But he didn't dare say those words because if he did, Polly Sutton might just divorce him.

The two lay in bed for a while longer before accepting their fate and getting up to go to work.

The two little ones were still asleep, so Victor Parker planned to bring Polly back before making them breakfast.

They hurriedly left the house, and when they entered the elevator, they saw the people inside were Ella Simms and her father.

As the two entered, they did not greet the others. Mr. Simms seemed not to recognize them, merely glanced at them and continued lecturing his daughter.

"Did you hear what I said? You'll realize how hard it is if you marry a mere worker in the future," Mr. Simms said solemnly. "What's so great about that guy? No matter how good he is, he's still working for someone else."

Ella Simms looked impatient. "He doesn't like me at all. Do you think your daughter is such a cute sweetheart that everyone must have me?"
