Polly Sutton felt that Victor Parker was now in the mood for an argument.
"It's not that you were wrong. I just wanted to ask President Parker about his thoughts at the time. Why did you choose Matthew Quinn to handle this matter?"
"Did I choose? Wasn't it him who came on his own?"
Polly Sutton: "..."
Up until now, she had always thought Victor Parker had arranged for Matthew Quinn, which is why Matthew came over.
"So what does he mean by that? Proud?"
Being proud isn't typically a trait of someone without a wife.
"Why not just say he's clueless, can't even figure out if he likes someone or not."
Polly Sutton responded with a knowing "oh," bumped Victor Parker's shoulder, "Did President Parker figure out from the start if he liked or didn't like someone?"
"That's a must." Victor Parker lied with a straight face, pushing her into the car, "Let's go, heading home. Were you thinking of waiting here for him to finish filming so you could invite him to dinner?"
