Chapter 4 - CHAPTER THREE: A Decision Made

"No don't go."

"Save me."

"You remember you are the cause of all...."

"Wake up, you imbecile."

Young sprouted up from the horrible combination of nightmares as his breathing hardened. Sweat soaked his body as if he was poured a bucket of water. He slowly tried to get his breathing in check as the dreams as usual overwhelmed him.

A constant sting pinched at his head multiple times and it felt like it might explode at any moment. Their sounds hadn't left his ears disturbing him further. The cry of their anguish giving him an unsettled feeling. His lungs struggled to help him breathe and his mind fought to chase the horrors away. They had reduced a little but was followed with an high pitched scream instantly making his hands close his ears. His mouth had refused to give out any sigh of his distress and he struggled to push the pain away.

He was a little bit relieved as his suffering slowly reduced until they vanished. Any man would have wept at the torment but Young eyes knew no sorrow for they had returned back to what they were the moment the torment had ended. He had already taught himself not to feel and the only thing that triggered his emotions was his nightmares, and afterwards they quickly if not almost instantly gets locked up once more.

After his head had became clearer and his body settled, he then took his time to observe his surroundings. Looking at the red clothing all around him, he had already figured that he was in a tent. He sat on a mat and was covered with a sheet.

His body was bare with only him having on him the trousers he had worn before. The events of before replayed in his head and he lastly remembered his horse running in the opposite direction out of the forest. However, he was curious on how he had gotten here.

Tossing the sheet of his body he slowly in a crouching position exited from the tent. Coming out, his eyes were greeted with the sight of other tents around him and creatures he didn't think himself to be among of again. People were all around him and seeing them had gave him a little pause before the surprise vanished. Most of the people had turned their heads looking at him from the moment he came out and some had even gasped while some others eyes widened. He seeing this had remembered he was had no top on and the upper part of his body was open to their judgment but he couldn't care of what ever they thought.

Young looked around and saw that they were in an open area and behind them were trees. The unfamiliarity of the surroundings giving him the knowledge that he was no longer near the forest.

"How far did he go." Young couldn't help but think.

His eyes had landed on a little lass running towards him. On her hands were one of his tops as she waved at him.

"Mister, you are awake." Her tiny voice squealed showing excitement as she got to him. She has her slightly brownish hair braided and her round face was occupied with slightly big deep black eyes, a small nose and small lips. Adorned with light skin, she wore a simple gown with flats on her feets covering her sockings. She smiled at him showing him her perfectly white teeth as she handed him his top which he took and wore immediately.

"You have been sleeping for three good days, I thought you would never wake up."

So that was how long he had been out, no wonder the nightmares piled up.

Remembering something, his gaze moved around as he looked for someone.

"Are you looking for something mister?"

"He's probably looking for his horse." A little boy who had short curly hair said as he walked and stood besides the girl as he sized Young up and down.

Young diverted his attention to the boy as his eyes related his question. The little boy had shrugged answering. "He is fine, probably went into the forest to get himself some food. He's a fine one."

By that time, five more people had walked over to them. Two women that were almost the exact replica of the little girl and a man and young lady which Young assumed was the boys older sister. A old woman stood in the middle and all their eyes gave off the questions which they wanted to ask him. Young had no interest in giving answers to their curiosity and the urge to leave was already playing in his head.

"Careful there child, your wounds might have miraculously healed faster and you had been able to wake up earlier than expected but your body is still weak and you won't be able to go that far." The old woman warned as if reading his mind. "Besides, you can't possibly go back to where you had come from seeing the state you had been brought in."

Young had to admit the woman had a point. He couldn't go back to the forest though he was a little curious about the stone warriors. How they had reached the forest was a mystery he would have liked to solve. The fact of him being helpless back then giving him a huge dent in his pride. Their numbers had surprised him a little.

They were usually many but the one of that day was completely too much for the size they usually were. It was a combination of different soldiers. Foot soldiers, Horse men, soldiers on carriages and some he hadn't seen clearly due to his attempt of escape. Something was off and the bad feeling from before had come back. He knew well what the feeling was, a simple hint that something terrible was about to happen.

Putting that as a matter for later, Young focused on the people in front of him as he made to ask for his belongings. However, it was suddenly difficult to talk.

For the past seven years, he had one to no contact with people and had hardly spoken words since then. But even though it was hard, he knew he had to ask before they started sending their questions at him. "Where are my belongings?" Young asked his voice coming out a little strange to his ears being a long time he had heard it. He was even surprised that he could still speak so well.

"They are at the carriage." The younger one of the little girl replicas answered.

Ignoring the people around him, he walked slowly to the carriage the lady spoke of, his steps slower than usual. The little lad and lass followed behind him as he passed other people who constantly gave him stares as he walked. Their numbers were many and everyone seemed to also have their own tents and carriages and Young wondered what had happened to them but made no effort to soothe his curiosity.

"Are you leaving so soon mister?" The little girl asked him as he searched through his bag. "Mama Gretha said for you to rest so you could get better soon."

"He seems to be hardheaded. I would make that he was a warrior with all that weapon he has with him."

"You went through his belongings."

"What did you expect me to do, we don't know who he is or if he had brought trouble with him. We have to be cautious."

"He was badly injured, what if they were things personal to him he had which he didn't want anyone to see."

"How is that to be a concern to me, he is a stranger." The little boy turned towards Young as he continued. "Who are you anyway? Why carrying all those weapons around? I couldn't even recognize some of the weapons in....."

The little boy's words caught in his throat at the sudden change coming from the man. Young was emitting a terrific aura and it was so much that even some few people around them felt the chill and backed away. The boy started shaking as Young eyes diverted to him as they gave of the feeling of him ready to kill someone.

"Where is my box?" Young asked, each word coming out one by one and his features giving out a deadly warning.

"Um, um, I do... don't kn... know. Everything wa....was comp....lete when I....I left it." The little boy shuttered shaking more as it seemed he would wet his pants at any instant. "This man is frightening." The boy thought.

Young ignored him as he once more search the bag for something else. Finding it, Young had brought out a strange object and stood straight looking at it. It was made of something which looked like a coin though a little bit bigger which had a hole beneath it. A single thread was attached to the hole and holded what seemed to be a small rectangular piece of clothing with strange writings and symbols on it. Staring at them, Young started speaking the languages written on it, one the others had no clue of.

As he finished reading, the little boy and girl's eyes widened in amazement as the coin started to light up and float in the air and then in a flash, it started moving quickly in a direction and their eyes all followed it's movements. The coin continued to move until it finally stopped in the middle of some people.

Young started shaking his head little by little as he walked slowly towards them. His stride was powerful and the people gave way as he walked with the children following behind him. He looked like a king and a predator who had gotten his prey in an way that it has no way to escape and his aura made even the men around shake in their sleeves. It had been long since he got in a shuffle with someone else that was not a beast or monster. Right now there was no one here who could possibly beat him and that made the situation worse for those who had dared to steal from him while he was in his slumber. The thieves would wet themselves if they knew of the torment he could bestow on them. If they knew of the monstrous being he had become. Pity was not something he gave to people who didn't deserve it.

He had stopped in front of two men right beside the coin object which was still floating in air. Both were rough looking men and had the opposite appearances. Where as the one by the right was tall and a little bit skinny with some hair on his head, wearing a sleeves shirt which color seems to fade and become worn out from not being used properly, the other at the left was a short fat man with a pipe in his mouth whose hair was bald and his face a little bit distorted by probably being beaten too much. Both men struggled hard to keep their wits intact and it seemed they were doing a good job in hiding their fear from everyone. Everyone except Young.

He perceive their fear and it made him even deadly as his aura escalated causing them both to shake where they were. This set of people were one of the many reasons he did not think that the humans needed redemption. Everyone was a bunch of idiots and it made him think less of people.

"Where is my box." He questioned them with a sense of authority in his tone.

It seemed like the fat one was already ready to spill out the beans when the other spoke up first. "What do you mean by that? How would you accuse us of theft? And what is that thing you have beside you? Are you a witch?"

The last words of the man caused gasps from the people around them as they all knew that he was the one who had the floating device but one none of them had seen before. The fat one on seeing this composed himself and decided to add fuel to the fire. "Yes, what is this witchcraft you have brought with you? Are you planning to kill us Wizard?"

Immediately the people went on an uproar ready to do something against Young. They wouldn't have minded it if not for the strange floating thing on the air. Young ignored them all as the coin flew into the bald ones pocket and shone even brighter. On seeing this, the tall one moved and threw a fist at Young but got a nose breaking punch from him before his hands could even reach him knocking him out instantly as he fell straight on his back onto the floor.

The others on seeing this stopped on their tracks seeing his brute strength. None of them had seen when he had even moved his hand and wouldn't even had known if not for him not bringing his hand down quickly. The fat man on seeing this was already prepared to give Young back what he stole but Young had no intention of being merciful as he sent a strong slap at him as the loud sound of his jaw breaking instantly changed the minds of the people around them. They were not much fighters and none of the good ones would be able to do what he just did with their full strength yet this man had done it with less effort than needed. The bald was already on the ground completely passed out and Young had retrieved his box from his pocket. The people on seeing this left as they could see his reason for his actions being that they stole from him.

Young after seeing that everything inside the box was intact went back to his belongings gathering them together. By now, Alpha had returned and had come over to his side nudging him. Young looked at him wondering what he wanted.

"You shouldn't make haste to leave. Have you considered where you will go?" The old woman appearing by their side had once again asked him.

Young thought of it and realized that truly there was no where for him to go. He had already decided against going back to the forest and he couldn't just go back there.

"Our village was destroyed by a demon and we the ones who survived decided to take refuge in the kingdom of Divini Divine." The woman persuaded.

His face had darkened a little by the sound of demons but was back to normal in an instant. He still didn't think himself ready to live among people again but the situation wasn't giving him much of a choice. Even Alpha seems to agree with the woman's suggestion and at last he gave up and walked back to the front of the tent he recently was and sat down. Alpha had followed and sat beside him while he made up his mind. After seven good years, he would once more live among humans.

With that in mind, he closed his eyes and started meditating.
