Marcus's home.
At eight in the morning, Little Black sat at the dining table eating breakfast. His mother carried a tray out from the kitchen and asked, "How did Julian sleep last night?"
Little Black ate breakfast and mumbled, "Pretty good, I guess."
"You mean you slept pretty well. I could hear your snoring from the hallway. If I were Julian, I'd kick you out of bed."
"Mom, don't be so harsh. I'm contributing to this family too. You know I'm a Detective Chief now. Besides solving cases, I have to train newcomers. The responsibilities and workload are much heavier than before..."
Marcus's mom interrupted him, placing her hands on the table and looking down, "Julian is nearing her due date, and she could go into labor at any time. During the day, I'll watch over her.
But at night, you're closest to her, and you need to fulfill your duties as a husband and father."
"I will."
