Chapter 43 - War Time

The day had finally come. The day the First and Second Years who had been sent to the Great Five Families were to participate in the war in their first battle against the Seraphs.

In reality, that wasn't actually completely true. The place where the Seraphs were seen heading, Havine City was closer to the region the Krueger and Queen Family were to protect. The Krueger and Queen Family were known to be closer to each other than the other Families mostly because of the way their armies were similiar in build.

The other three Families required people with a particular set of Casting but the Queen and Krueger Family allowed people of all Casting to join their Family. When asked why, they said it was essential to their type of Casting and it would provide variety of different soldiers.

The students of Class D that were sent to the Spair Family, Kasami and the others now known as the Magic gods were doing a bit better now. Staria and Akina would still get into fights and arguments but Kasami as their team leader was sure to settle it.

They had learned about the movement of the Seraphs and were a little worried about their friends. In their base and the other places of the world, they could view the battle that was about to take.

This was by the help of the Queen Family and their special Solix technology. They would use robotic bats with cameras attached to them to let the people of their country and even the world to view the battle that was about to take place.

During their time of training, Serena, Luz and the others now known as the Knights had trained super hard and improved. They had made so much progress and were know all at Stage 5 like Arina and Yuri. Luz had also gotten a weapon out of the Drach she and Arina had defeated when they were going back to Neon.

'I hope you guys win.' Kasami and her team thought as they watched the battle that was about to take place.

The First Years assigned to the Krueger Family and their soldiers were currently travelling through what were known as Speedplanes.

The Speedplanes were small in size. It had a design of a mostly shiny silver color like a regular plane. With the creation of the Portal stations, Planes were deemed useless for travelling and the Speedplanes were a better upgrade.

The Speedplanes like their named implied travelled faster in the air due to the strength of the wings which were able to easily bypass wind resistance. This was because they were powered by natural occuring magic in the Earth like the ones in the Magic Wells.

"I'm getting nervous." Arina thought but didn't say it out loud but she now realized the full intensity of the situation she had caused and it made her racked with guilt.

Even though in this war there was an unspoken rule that none of the students should be hurt too severely during the war, it's not like there was any guarantee the Sergeants of the opposing side and their army would keep to that rule.

Arina's father even before he knew she was a Caster had taught her how to fight and defend herself so she was glad she could at least do that much.

Arina was seated on a large bench next to her team. There were other benches were the other two teams sat and also for the Second Year teams. While the two Sergeants were at the very front in the control room driving the Speedplane.

Yuri's eyes met with Felix's on the plane. Yuri had avoided Felix the whole time after the incident at the Krueger Base for fear that his Demon's instincts would be activated. His Demon side would mostly be triggered by strong emotions and his eyes would glow a sinister red color. It so made him more aggressive and he thought he might have killed Felix if he was provoked.

When his eyes met with Felix, the latter gave off a grin that slightly annoyed Yuri so he looked away.

"We're here." The Sergeants said after setting the Speedplane to land which it was doing very slowly.

The First and Second Years finally had a look at who they would be facing against.

From outside the plane's view, lots of Seraph Soldiers numbering about seventy were seen stationed miles from them. This of course was extremely small compared to the actual army. It also seemed that none of them were students due to the age difference of the soldiers. They had used a special device to teleport a structure that resembled a large silver watch tower with a banner of the Seraph Symbol, a pair of white angelic wings.

Only a few were actually at the tower, the bulk of the army were seen a few miles ahead of the tower. It was a scary sight to see. The Seraph Soldiers had numerous Drach Weapons and most of them had their wings out and were hovering in the air. This meant that they had the arial advantage.

A few of the Seraph soldiers pointed their wands towards the landing Speedplane and blasts of ice, wind, fire and water were aimed and coming towards it. But luckily, a purple forcefield of magic covered the Speedplane and blocked off the attacks.

The Speedplane quickly descended to the ground after that, a few miles away from the Seraphs to be safe and everyone on board quickly got off.

Sergeant Nikk was seen dropping what looked to be a metallic small box on the ground in front of the Speedplane. He then tapped on a button on it and suddenly, the Speedplane vanished into it in a white light. He then picked it up and kept it in his Compartment Bag.

Everyone looked towards the enemies they were about to face. They all geared up, they activated their Charms and those who had weapons brought out theirs. Sila brought put her new Drach Gear, they were silver gauntlets with a blue trim. On their palms, a green gem was seen on both of them.

Off in the distance, they could see another Speedplane landing, the one belonging to the Queen Family.

"You can do this. You caused this mess. Time to fix it."
