After the woman finished speaking, she slammed the door shut with a deafening sound. The twins glanced at the little girl behind them, then picked up the dead bird from the floor again. However, the commotion finally drew the attention of the servants, who arrived belatedly. The two women hurriedly coaxed Xiaoxiao, Tiantian, and the little girl back to their rooms. As for the twins, no one paid them any mind, not even daring to cast a glance their way.
The twins exchanged a look, seemingly having lost interest, and kicked the bird aside as they returned to their room.
Shortly after the servants left, the little girl's room door opened again. Holding the doll she had painstakingly glued back together, she quietly ran downstairs and started talking to a painting hanging on the wall.
"Mom, when are you coming back?"
"Tiantian misses you so much."
"The older boys here bully me and broke my doll. I don't like them."
