Qi Xuefei's treehouse is actually northeast of Li Yajun's. Looking to the northeast, you can already see that green area.
However, because the two treehouses are diagonally opposite each other, the distance is even farther, certainly more than twelve kilometers, so there's no way for their protection zones to connect. Xu Xin and the others can't go straight across; they have to detour from the north or the east.
They have two options: First, head north to reach the protection zone of the northern treehouse, then go east to Qi Xuefei's protection zone. Second, head east to the eastern treehouse, then north.
But now, the eastern treehouse is actually just north of Li Wenxi's and is already dead. Since its deterrent protection zone doesn't connect with Li Wenxi's treehouse, it's likely it won't connect with Qi Xuefei's treehouse either.
