I sighed as I looked around my cluttered living room. I had spent the morning cleaning and organizing, but now I was bored out of my mind. I had nothing to do, and no one to talk to.
I picked up my phone and dialed Zion's number, hoping he would answer. But when he did, he sounded distracted. "Hey, Sharon. I'm busy right now. Can I call you back later?"
I felt disappointed. "Okay, no problem. Just call me when you're free."
Next, I tried calling Maxie, but she didn't answer. Instead, she sent a text. "Hey, girl. I'm slammed at the office. Can talk later?"
I felt a bit miffed. Didn't anyone want to talk to me?
I dialed Beatrice's number, and she answered on the first ring. "Hey, Sharon! How's it going?"
"Hey, Bea! I'm good, thanks. Just bored out of my mind. I was thinking about you and thought I'd give you a call," I said, settling into the couch.
