She lowered her head and splashed her face with cold water to wake herself up a bit, the slightly cool water drizzling on her face.

Outside the door, through the floor-to-ceiling window, she saw Jim standing outside the restaurant with a man in the distance.

It really was him... Her breath seemed to stop instantly. She stared out the window in a daze, her whole body stiff, her feet rooted to the spot, unable to move an inch.
That tall back, strong and sturdy, was just like in countless dreams at night, still so clear even from this distance.
