Chapter 10 - Side: With the Satans

Point out any mistakes please

______

"So you're telling me the Tepes faction fell overnight? Without anyone even noticing?" Sirzechs asked to his other Satans.

"Yep, I got a report from one of our spies, when they got there only the captive dhampirs remained. He said they were just roaming around not sure what they were supposed to do." Serafall answered while still looking through papers.

"Did he question them? We need more information than just that."

"They did know much, all they saw was a hoard of green ghostly looking monsters surrounding the castle then after a while they vanished. The next morning they didn't hear anyone so they left to check and couldn't find any other vampires in the whole castle." The leviathan Satan explained, her brows knitting in frustration.

"Ghostly green monsters… do we have any descriptions?" The bald headed Satan asked

"Not much since they could only see from behind and didn't attempt to get close. All we have is that some looked like dragons, giants, gryphons, Minotaurs, and harpies. One thing that the ones who were bolder and looked out remembered seeing was a three headed humanoid dragons." She explained once more.

The room went silent, the words striking them all like the buckle of a belt.

"Azi Dahaka" The green haired Satan Beelzebub said.

There are many three headed dragons out in the world However, a three headed humanoid dragon was far more descriptive.

There are a few humanoid dragons but none had three heads, all but the legendary dragon created by Angra Mainyu.

"But isn't he supposed to be dead?" Falbium the bald Satan Asmodeus asked tiredly.

His question resounded across the minds of all present.

"Well of course he is, but clearly someone brought him and all those other guys back." Serafall answered

She wasn't having a good time at all, as the Satan who manages foreign affairs Serafall is getting bombarded with questions about what happened and why even though the devils had absolutely nothing to do with the situation.

Slamming her head on the table she groaned

"Why are we getting blamed for something we had nothing to do with! We didn't even know it happened!" She complained.

"We're devils, if there's no one else to blame we'll be the first they assume to be the cause." Falbium responded with a shrug.

It couldn't have been the church, they would've announced it to the whole world with pride that they managed to wipe out one of the vampire factions.

The Angels aren't exactly keen on attacking without being attacked so it wasn't them and it's unlikely Michael would make that type to make that type of move.

It wasn't the fallen as Azazel is pretty known to be a researcher, causing hostility won't get him chances to get free research material.

The Greeks are always too busy fighting amongst themselves to go wipe out a whole faction they've barely interacted with.

It wasn't the Hindu Gods they have no reason to target the Tepes and it definitely would've been far more flashy.

The Norse like the Greeks are usually just fighting amongst themselves too busy to worry about the outside world.

It couldn't have been the Carmilla faction as them and the Tepes have been in a stalemate for years with the Tepes having a clear advantage for everyone to see.

The Yokai were out the question, they didn't have the strength to quietly take out the Tepes.

The Shinto Gods were…. The Shinto Gods. Always locked away in Takamagahara.

Etc.Etc

If it's no one else's doing, who else but the devils could've caused it? They are powerful enough for it, and they are known to be unreasonable people with arrogance known to all, no doubt someone got upset for some reason or another and called down their powerful great great great granddad to smite the Tepes.

Of course none of that was true, though it technically was the devils fault they had nothing to do with it physically.

"Who could possibly be strong enough to gather so many dead souls? Especially in such complete states?" Ajuka asked speculatively.

That was the biggest question of all

"It had to have been a God of some kind, but none of the death Gods would even attempt something like this, pulling souls from other Gods soul cycles is just asking for war." Serafall answered with a sigh, her breath puffing with frost, her magic leaking out slightly.

Gods of Death and Gods of the Dead or underworld of different mythological factions all have different Soul cycles and underworlds. Counting just humans, thousands of people die each day so how do the gods even keep up with all the death across the world?

It's simple really, they just don't.

When a soul dies two things decide where they go, Religion or Origin.

If you are born Greek if you convert to Christianity even if you die in Greece you'd go to the Christian soul cycle.

If you believe in no religion, your soul will first be returned to the world itself were your soul records will be read to determine your origin. Once your origin, the place your soul originated from and the place of its first "Story", your soul will then be categorized and set to the region of the Mythology you belong to.

After that, it's up to those Death Gods and their soul collectors to guide those souls to their underworld.

So basically you go to whichever Religion you believe in or you are put to whichever region you were born.

If you are born in a place with no soul cycle and follow no religion, your soul will simply return to the world and be recycled.

Souls are essential to not only the power of the God collecting them but the entire pantheon as well.

Forcefully ripping those souls out of not only the worlds soul cycle and the underworld of those gods is simply asking them all to gang up on you.

"It could be a sacred gear" Falbium said casually

.

.

"The Sephiroth Graal" Ajuka said shaking his head, wondering why he didn't even think of it.

"But has it ever been used at that scale before? Is it even capable of that?" Sirzechs asked.

"It shouldn't be but we don't have much information on it due to it only appearing a few times in the past. The users usually die quickly due to soul exhaustion. But you all know the peculiarity of sacred gears, they can transform and mutate beyond anything imaginable, especially Longinus class sacred gears." Ajuka answered, his gaze off into the distance, his thoughts occupied trying to analyze the possibilities.

"This does seem like the most likely conclusion." Serafall said while reorganizing her documents "Now I just have to get these guys off our backs on this."

Seeing her about to get up to leave Sirzechs stopped her "Wait hold on, I have something for everyone."

From the inside of his coat Sirzechs pulled out three small black box, similar to what one would hold a ring in.

Sliding a box to each of them he continued "Open them, what's inside will be plenty useful to you."

Opening the boxes they were met with blank grey glass like jewels with gold plating in the shape of a six pointed star surrounding it.

"What are they? And is this Divinity?" Serafall asked in confusion.

"They are known as Visions, jewels capable of granting the user power over the elements, they require nothing but an energy source to function and even that it itself provides the user. It is also a direct pathway to reach Godhood, as the user grows it grows alongside them increasing its divinity until all constellations are filled and Godhood is reached. Take a look at mine."

Reaching into his coat he pulled out his own Vision, the grey of the ones in the box's was a deep crimsons red and in the middle of that cloud of red was a symbol of fire.

Just witnessing it they could tell what he said to be true, if one were to scale them, the divinity in the blank Visions was only that of a budding just to be born divine spirit. On the other hand, the divinity in Sirzechs Vision was that of a mid-tier God.

"So that's what I sensed, I was just imagining things" Falbium said

Ajuka immediately activated his Kankara formula attempting to analyze what these jewels actually are and how they could possibly work.

A device that could grants not only direct control over the elements, unclaimed divinity, and grow alongside the user. How could he possibly not want to know how it worked.

"Not right now Ajuka, you'll have plenty of time to analyze it after" Sirzechs said admonishing him.

"Ahem" coughing slightly Ajuka averted his eyes and de-activated his kankara formula.

"To activate them just hold them and think or say your deepest ambition." The Satan Lucifer instructed placing his own Vision back into his coat.

Picking the Vision from the box Serafall stared at it for a few seconds in thought. She's been trying to get stronger for quite a while now, but no matter how hard she tried it seemed like she was basically stuck where she was. It was as if she'd hit her plateau, she had turned to trying to achieve the "True form" but even with that she was stumped. She could only partially transform herself and even that was on a short timer.

Frustrations had began to build up with her rival, Grayfia, slowly closing the gap between them she had mostly stagnated, only thing that remained was her advantage in ice control and her secret techniques. This Vision thing… it could be her way forward.

"…I want to build a world where So-tan can grow up freely without having to fear that someone may come after her." Serafall's words rang true and the Vision began shine.

It flipped between a flashy bright white, and frosty ice blue. The lights seemed to fight each other for dominance until slowly the white overpowered the blue fully. The lights settled revealing a white Vision with two black swirly lines seemingly being the symbol for its element.

Behind her a white light flashed into existence. In the light the silhouette of two people, one guiding that other down a path, showed up. There were two stars on each of the body's one where their hands connected then one in front shining the path forward. One star in the constellation was filled with light.

"What element is it?" Sirzechs asked curiously. It clearly wasn't one of the basic elements.

"Space" Serafall answered simply, clearly distracted at the new feeling.

His eyebrows jumped in surprise "Really? I was expecting Cryo or some other element. They are supposed to be based on your elemental affinity so you probably had a hidden affinity for space magic you never knew about."

"Hm…" Could this be why she's stagnating to this extent? Thinking about it, it does make sense. True form for devils is just taking the form and power of one's soul and layering it on top of and fusing it with the body. Well for Sirzechs it's a little different, but for everyone else that's how one would achieve it. So if you aren't using the true affinity of your soul to manifest it, it'll never fully work.

'But then how did I manage a partial transformation?' She thought, the question marring her mind.

She stared at the Vision her mind swirling with ideas, until it landed on one possibility.

'Maybe my True Form is actually both elements. To achieve it I need not only Ice but space too.' Her thoughts converged into that one hypothesis.

Letting out a deep freezing sigh she shook her head "Well, at least I have something to focus on other than work now." She said focusing back on her fellow Satans.

Placing the Vision in her pocket she realized that they hadn't continued with their own Visions.

"Huh? Did you guys wait for me?" She asked

"We didn't want to interrupt your epiphany after all. We could see your mind swirling with thought from here." Ajuka replied jokingly.

"Ah"

"…Anyways" Falbium quickly grabbed his own Vision and muttered his own ambition

"To stop the underworld from getting into anymore wars so I don't have to work anymore."

His Vision glowed a yellow brown before settling down, the grey of the Vision was now a orange amber color with the rocky symbol of Geo at its center.

Behind him a sleeping figure of a man could be seen stars outlining his figure, one star shone brightly.

"Geo" Falbium said placing the Vision in his coat pocket.

"It's my turn then" Ajuka said grasping his blank Vision.

"I want to discover and unveil all mysteries, formulate all phenomena and understand the why in all things."

The Vision glowed a bright green in acknowledgment and like Falbium his light faded quickly, revealing a forest green Vision with a plant like symbol at its center, the symbol for dendro.

Behind him the silhouette of a man surrounded by glyphs and magic circles appeared the stars interconnecting them, three of the stars shined brightly and Ajuka was bombarded with information about his possible Divine titles.

Demon God pillar : Akashic Records, God of Knowledge, Devil God of Forbidden knowledge, God of all Records, Demon God of Creation and annexation.

"Oh? Well that interesting So when you reach three stars in your constellation is when your true divinity starts to take shape." Ajuka said in interest. "I was just shown my possible paths in Godhood, I assume you are the same Sirzechs?"

"Yeah, I have some pretty cool ones too. Demon God of Blazing Destruction and even God of the Black Flame." Sirzechs responded with pride.

"Seriously..?" Serafall said in exasperation "That sounds like something that would come up on my show as the ultimate villain or something"

Laughing a little Ajuka said "Mine aren't but better in Naming sense but two are already catching my attention. Demon God Pillar: Akashic Records, and Demon God of creation and annexation."

"Those do sound interesting" Sirzechs replied.

"Is that everything? I want to get all this done as soon as possible" Serafall asked

"Yeah, that's it for now." The red head replied seeing her hurry.

"Thanks for this Vision thing btw, since you didn't explain where you got it I'll just assume there's a reason for it. I trust you after all." The blackette said before walking out the room.

The other two Satans nodded at her statement, they understood that Sirzechs wouldn't do anything to harm them, and even if not them, definitely not Serafall.

The sister of his sisters best friend, hurting her would also hurt his own sister.

"What the fuck are these stars and where the fuck are these constellations coming from!!?" The voice of an angry woman rang throughout the temple she resided in.

She sat over a pool of radiant glass like water that seemed to reflect everything. With it she could witness the entire night sky and view all the stars that light the sky.

But as of recently 84 new stars dotted the night sky and 14 new constellations could be witnessed. They appeared so suddenly and quietly she almost didn't notice. If it was anyone else they'd have just ignored it but as someone who watches the stars almost constantly how could she not notice the discrepancies?

"Something bigs going on, and I want to know what it is!" Her voice filled with conviction she was going to start her investigation on whatever is going on.
