But before the reporters could ask more, one voice rose above the rest.
"Si Kai, one last question," a man shouted. "What about your connection to the Si family? They claim you're one of them!"
At once, the room tensed.
Si Kai's golden eyes dimmed. His expression turned cold. "I have no connection to them," he said flatly. "They severed all ties when I was five. They left me on the streets."
Gasps echoed through the crowd. The cameras zoomed in as his tone sharpened.
"Now they use my name for profit, to build their reputation," he continued. "But I have only one family, the people who never abandoned me."
Si Kai's words made everyone in the magic world fall silent.
There was a deep sigh in the air, as if the entire world itself had bowed in quiet defeat.
Who would have imagined that the same boy who was once cast away, forgotten, and treated as worthless would rise from the ashes and shine brighter than any star?
