On my skin, I can feel the warmth of the sun. After I awoken from my nightmare, I slowly opened my eyes and gather up my strength to sit up. I can feel my neck aching as I look around this room. This room? Where is this again? In my mind I ask myself these questions. Head aching, I slowly remember what this place is and what I'm supposed to do here. "You're not dead are you?" I slowly look up to see Mirh looking at me with disappointment in her eyes as she watches me "sorry to disappoint you" I replied. I had difficulty standing up due to my injuries from the last fight as if I did any work. "Mirh can you tell me what happened after I was asleep?" looking into her eyes "fine" she replied in boredom "the witch was gone, the king was satisfied, and the healers had to carry you to the infirmary." She said crossing her arms.
"Can you get any information about the witch that attacked the palace?" "If it is within the kingdom, it's possible" "and can you make this heavy pain go away?" I asked "I can only transfer it to someone else" she stated "And how are you out of your room?" I asked. She pointed her eye where the contract was formed and disappeared into thin air.

You've got to be kidding me! I spent my remaining days sleeping. I sighed and walked out of my room. The house seemed empty, I wonder where everyone went to, training perhaps. Walking down this flowery path is calming. I looked around at the different flowers I came a across on. I found myself resting under a try and gazing up at the blue sky. Why did my life suddenly become so hectic and not as peaceful as it used to be.
A part of me misses my old life, I wonder if my parents and friends are doing well. I wish days like this would just continue. Well, my life had an enjoyable run and I was happy in some parts of it. There would be no way he could approve of me being his son's companion. Let's sleep and wait for my death. As I closed my eyes to doze of in slumbber I hear men shouting from a distance, but their voices were just mumbling to me.
I suddenly felt two arms lifting me up and being carried like a sack of potatoes on someone's shoulders. I quickly opened my eyes to see that I was being carried by one of the guards in the palace and that they were running at a high speed. I screamed from shock at the face of this situation. The next thing I knew I was within sight of the door of the king's office. This is quite bewildering. One of the guards pushed me to get inside the room quickly. I gain my composure and open the door. There I can see the king himself gazing directly at me.
He gestured to me to sit on the sofa in front of his table. "As you know my son is quite fond of you lad" he stated not breaking the gaze between us "I personally don't think that you are not fit to stay by my son's side, although the courage that you showed my son while fighting the creatures of the darkness was honorable, the risk that you took to save him even if your life was the price to pay for it is quite noble" he looked out the window staring at the people training on the grounds. "Due to this bravery you have shown, I will grant you my son's companion, lad" he stated. I stood up and kneeled before him and thanked him for considering me worthy, even if I was a mere slave in his eyes. I slowly got up and waited for him to say I could leave the room as I looked again into his eyes. "That is all you may take your leave now" he stated.
I bow down and walk to the door of the room, as my hand reaches for the door knob he speaks again "and don't make me regret my decision, boy" I close the door behind me and slowly leave the hallway that leads to that room again. I slowly felt my legs getting weaker as I drew closer to a significant distance between me and that place. I kneeled down on the floor trying to catch my breath from the nervousness that I felt while I was inside that room.

Sweet, I can have a better chance of surviving this place now. Hope I'm not caught up in Zagreus's trials and changes as he attempts to solve his kingdom's problem. As I felt the strength of my feet coming back, I slowly got up and made my way out of the long and huge hallway of this palace. As I passed one of the room, there was a loud crash that came in the room. I rushed to it and opened the door. There were lots of books scattered on the floor. "Are you okay?" I yelled in the room. "Shut up, ugly duckling!" Zagreus emerged from the pile of books and slammed a book onto the table with a very wide smirk on his face. My eyes widen as I am very much aware of what this scene is. "I found it, a way to end all of this" his laugh echoes through out the room while I stand in silence and terror in my body, as the main plot of the novel is slowly starting.
