Lucia's heart tightened while hearing the footsteps getting closer and closer. At the same time, her breath hitched when the doorknob rattled.
"Gastone…" Lucia whispered as she slightly approached the door, but Joseph stopped her.
"Don't, it's dangerous," Joseph stated as his eyes fixed on the door. He wanted to show Lucia she could depend on him.
As the door opened, Gastone's figure appeared. He looked stressed, and his facial expression was stoic.
"Lucia," Gastone muttered, thinking about her. However, the moment he saw Joseph's hand holding Lucia's arm, trying to protect her.
Gastone's blood boiled straight into his head.
"Gas-" Joseph couldn't continue his words when Gastone's fist connected with his left cheek.
The impact was so strong that Joseph flew a meter away.
"AH!" Lucia screamed in shock after what had happened. "GASTONE! What are you doing!?"
Gastone didn't reply and just stared at Joseph, who lost consciousness and was lying on the floor.
