Surrounding them were several explorers trading equipment. This area was specifically allocated for explorers, allowing them to freely trade equipment.
There is such a market at the entrance of almost every dungeon.
The stalls were evenly distributed on both sides of the street. Any explorer who needed it could just pay to gain temporary use of a stall.

The one selling cannon fodder artifacts was from a race with horns on their head. Forgive Kane for his lack of knowledge; he didn't know what race he belonged to.
Because the man's head wasn't adorned with just one or two horns, but a bunch, a bundle of differently sized curved horns that were practically his hair.
