Lucy Ansley blinked and softly explained, "I didn't ask him to come. Let's have dinner first, it's not too late to see him after we're done."
"I think you're just stalling for time." Leila Bennett pinched her cheek across the table, "Playing a delaying tactic with your big sister, huh?"
Lucy said no, but lacked any confidence.
Leila was not about to make a big deal out of this. After a brief chat, the waiter brought over the specialty dishes.
During the meal, Lucy occasionally glanced at Leila, as if trying to decipher some clue from her face.
But Sister Leila, who had been immersed in the entertainment industry for years, had a mastery of concealing her emotions.
While peeling shrimp, she motioned with her lips, "Eat your food, we'll talk later."
After about twenty minutes, they had almost finished eating, and both put down their utensils.
