Eva Ronan watched them leave with a cold expression, then sat alone in the living room massaging her back before getting up to head to the dining room.
Lucy Ansley quietly drank her porridge with her head down, while Elaine Ruane propped her chin up, looking at her kindly.
Hearing the intruding footsteps, she glanced sideways, her eyes moving from Eva's face to her body, and asked puzzled, "What's with this posture? What's wrong with your back?"
Eva braced her right hand on her back, pulled out a chair and sat down, "It's nothing, just accidentally bumped it."
"You bumped it?" Elaine repeated suspiciously.
Eva misunderstood, thinking Elaine meant something else, and directly lifted a corner of her chiffon blouse, revealing a purple bruise on her side, "Here, let me show you, just accidentally hit the corner of a table, not a man!"
Lucy, who was drinking porridge, instantly looked up: "..."
Elaine raised her eyebrows with a playful smile: "..."
