At seven in the evening, Henry Ronan pushed open the wooden door and entered the bungalow on Cloudsea Road.
The evening breeze was slightly cool. He had a coat slung on his arm, wearing only a thin white shirt. As he walked into the yard, he saw Leila Bennett, who was ready to say goodbye.
The two weren't very familiar with each other, they nodded in greeting. As Leila passed by him, she whispered, "Your uncle intends for you two to separate temporarily. Be mentally prepared."
The man paused slightly, turned his head to look at Leila, and asked without a change in expression, "Have you talked to her already?"
This "her" naturally referred to Lucy Ansley.
Leila watched Henry's reaction, finding it strange. Why wasn't he surprised at all?
Despite her thoughts, she answered truthfully, "Not yet, but this afternoon, when I was prying information from your uncle, she incidentally overheard."
