Chapter 7 - The demons :

Now that my survival is assured I am no longer afraid.

"Equip Boots of Hermes"

Charcoal black boots with pretty wings delicately embroidered in gold appeared at my feet. I felt my weight lighten. I raced around the apartment and was shocked at my speed. It's only 50% yet I feel so fast. When I would be much stronger, 50% more of my speed, it will be a huge non-negligible advantage.

Well it's time to see what my status looks like.

To be considered a full hunter and to be able to register for certain benefits, you must have at least 10 in all statistics. So I still have a few outings left before I can officially apply.

It's easy to know where to register since in the medium-sized city where I am, it's the huge building in the center.

Indeed my city is called Iron Town and it is only a fort which delimits the borders of the alliance with the wild lands then it serves as a rampart against the invasion of the demons. It is nothing compared to the capital Dragon City which is at least 100 times Iron Town.

There, the Hunters' HQ is installed there and it is they who pay handsomely for the S and + classes to move their buttocks.

Well, after all the events of the day I'm super tired so I fall asleep like a log.

The next day, I left for the walls with the intention of doing the same thing as yesterday and hoping to have as much luck. But fate didn't seem to agree with me. I was in the process of retrieving an army dagger when suddenly the alarm sounded.

"To all citizens, a demon portal has opened two kilometers from here, those who can't fight take shelter and those who can fight go to the walls.

Anyone who can fight and who is not on the walls will be severely punished."

The city is in a state of emergency, all the soldiers and hunters are lined up along the walls, and others in front of the walls, ready to charge.

I did the same but I put myself in the last line. I bluffed by telling the commander that I was a support type. So me and the other troops are waiting. In these troops, there were all the species of the city: Dwarves, orcs, giants, goblins, etc but all were at the maximum of grade C. The Chief of the city arrived at the top of a rampart. He was a subspecies of phoenix, his gait was noble, his eyes blazing and his majestic clothes fluttered in the wind as he gazed at the horizon. Despite his class, he was only grade A and he was worried.

"What did the scouts report?" he said in a deep voice.

A subordinate knelt down and delivered the report "It seems the demons are several thousand ranging from F-grade to B-grade. The sub-commanders are 8 in number and each is B-grade. It seems that their leader is at the same rank as you. »

The chief's face hardened. Our city's B ranks are only 5 and its soldiers less than two thousand which is less than these demons.

"It looks like we're dealing with a low-rise tribe."

Seeing the dust sweeping away, the leader had no time to prepare a plan.

The demons have arrived.
