Chapter 62 - KM's

Mith and Jis sees a change in SGN

The silence of the headquarters was shattered not by a monster, but by the sudden, rhythmic thud of heavy boots hitting the floor.

"Stop," a commanding voice boomed

Jis spun around, sword raised, stepping in front of Mith. From the darkness, a dozen figures emerged. Mith said ,"Kms " his eyes filled with surprise and trauma . But no,They were not KmS creatures. They were tall, clad in armor that seemed to be grown from the wood itself, polished to a high sheen and reinforced with silver filigree. They moved with a synchronized grace that made Jis's combat training look amateur.

The leader, a woman with a scar running through her left eyebrow and a cloak of shimmering grey, stepped forward. She didn't look at their weapons; she looked directly at the Slate in Mith's hand.

"I am Selene the present head of SGN," she said, her voice cold and sharp.

"We escaped a massacre . Where is master. Zoh and others ,master Akhand and others" Jis spat, not lowering his guard. "There was a massacre at Oakhaven. The Lancer... he turned."

"We know," Selene interrupted, waving a hand dismissively. "We felt the shift. Aldrein has fallen. But that is not why we are here."

She signaled, and two of her guards stepped forward, unfurling a map that hovered in the air, glowing with magical light. It showed the region, but a massive, spreading black stain was consuming the area where Oakhaven stood.

"The corruption isn't just spreading," Selene said, her eyes locking onto Mith. "It is anchoring. The enemy you saw they aren't just invading. They are overwriting our reality."

Mith looked at the map. "Overwriting?"

"The problem is bigger than a village, boy," Selene stated grimly. "The SGN you knew is not here anymore . Many things unfolded . Master Zoh and everyone has gone to take care of a problem . Politics is running very heavily. You should not get involved here .

"

She pointed a gauntleted finger at the center of the black stain on the map.

" You two should stay in a spot behind the black spot and rest and train for a month there" she pointed on the map.

" By the way your next task is to go and find out about the km land and solve a problem.

Many soldiers have died there . They are coming back . I can't explain more. I have to leave . Go there and experience it yourself and if you are alive we will meet sometime again ." She disappears .

A knight in knight suit and knight sword comes up to them and says ," Someone is trying to attack Zoh and the most dangerous thing is that they are not creatures manipulated by the dark .

Mith demands for explanations.

The knight responds by opening a portal and says ," Move in and go to your next mission."

Jis asks his name .

The knight says ," Willon" he smiles and sends the portal towards them . Jis and Mith lands inside a hotel room.

Jis and Mith thought that they had surpassed level of normal knights but they understood he was different .

"Everyone is doing their job and has their responsibility.by the way you shouldnt underestimate anyone."

Jis : What ? how do you ..

Mith is focussed .

A man named Jasper waeing a black suit and half bald head with medium aged man looks greets them," Welcome , You will train and rest under my responsibility.

Mith ," We already trained under bees"

Jasper : No harm in learning some more ."

Rovette enters the km lands portal and slays a creature at the same moment .

He thinks about the stone of Mith and becomes focussed . His strong muscles aligned with his focussed looks.

He brings his focus back to the lands . He sees forests and forests .

Rovette ," I saved those kids twice now . Huh . I have to focus now. Forest are my speciality but these are different. They are not ordinary deomon or dramon forests. "

In a remote world the darkness has captured them and the dark emperor shoes his face and turns down the whole world with one finger movement. He says to his soldiers beside him. Capture all .

He laughs .

In another village group of six masked men destroys whole kingdom with fire and poison stings attacks from sky like fire raining from sky and slaying everything with their swords.

A warrior rand towards them saying," I will kill you , iam the strongest here you bastards."

He attacks a member but he dodges.

The man releases fire from his sword but the masked man escapes and cut him in two halves . The man is shocked and falls on ground.

Their swords and warriors and village everything is vanished and destroyed to ruins. No trace of life. The group disappears leaving a scorpion card in the ground .

Only the scorpion card felt the most lively thing in the world . The world president dead and everything destroyed . Inside a moving portal they stand still . A masked man seemingly the leader says ," The stronger groups are yet to come." Another says ," Looking forward to it." in deep voice .

He shows a scorpion card .

Feels two groups are onto something. So many mysteries ahead . Who are they and what do they want? We will see .

In the hotel:

The sun rose pale and watery over the ruins of Harrow's Creek, casting long, jagged shadows across the ash-covered ground. The air still smelled of ozone and burnt earth, a lingering reminder of the devastation from the night before.

Mith woke with a start, his hand instinctively going to the Slate in his pocket. It was humming quietly, a low, steady vibration that felt like a sleeping animal. He sat up, rubbing the grit from his eyes, and looked across the clearing.

Jis was already awake.

He was sitting cross-legged on a flat slab of overturned masonry, his back straight as a spear shaft. His magnificent sword lay across his knees, the steel dull in the morning light. His eyes were closed, his breathing slow and deep, barely disturbing the cold air.

Mith started to stand, to ask if he was alright, but he stopped.

The air around Jis was rippling.

Usually, when Jis channeled his magic, it was reactive—a flash of blue light to block a blow, a burst of energy to push back a curse. It was a shield, always fighting against something. But this was different.

Mith watched, mesmerized, as a soft, azure glow began to seep from his skin. It didn't flare or pop like his fire; it flowed like water, moving down his arms and pooling into the sword on his lap.

He saw the change happen in the space of a single breath.

Yesterday, his energy had been jagged, spiked with the static of doubt and fear. It had been a frantic attempt to keep up. Now, as he watched, the jagged edges smoothed out. The blue light deepened, turning from a pale, flickering wash into a dense, crystalline solid.

The runes on his blade ignited silently. They didn't scream with power; they hummed with absolute precision. The doubt that had clouded his aura—the fear of fumbling, of not being enough—evaporated.

He wasn't trying to be the explosion anymore. He was becoming the calm before the strike. He was the stillness that anchored the storm.

Mith felt the shift in the ambient mana. The chaotic energy left over from Aldrein's corruption was being pulled toward him, not to be absorbed, but to be ordered. He was imposing his will on the world around him, quieting the noise until only his focus remained.

He didn't look like a sidekick, or a second-best sorcerer. He looked like a king on a throne of silence.

Mith leaned back against a charred wooden beam, the tension in his own shoulders finally unknotting. He realized he didn't need to worry about him. He hadn't just listened to him last night; he had internalized it. He had stopped chasing his shadow and found his own ground.

A small, genuine smile tugged at the corner of Mith's mouth.

"Welcome back, Shield-Brother," he whispered to the wind.

End of arc and volume.

Thanks guys .
