"Move aside, don't block the way!"
After getting bumped, Bertha Haines steadied herself and wasn't angry. She had never worked in a company, so she didn't understand the various rules of the workplace.
It's inevitable for newcomers to be bullied; such exploitation of interns happens almost every day.
"Len, make five copies of this."
"Len, deliver this to the manager's office."
"Len, have you finished the revisions I asked for?"
Bertha just watched from the sidelines, observing the intern's obviously aggrieved expression, yet still obediently following the 'seniors' orders.
She really wanted to help her but didn't know how.
After wandering around all the floors, she couldn't help returning to the planning department. She still wanted to say a word of encouragement to that intern.
A few words of encouragement might bring a bit of warmth to her in this cold work environment.
