"You lunatic!"
The malice flashing in Clare Lewis's eyes made Bertha Haines feel frightened; what blinded her to think this man was gentle and harmless?
Bertha didn't want to be alone with him for even a moment longer. She constantly feared he would strangle her the next second.
But just as her body left the sofa, her way was blocked by him.
"A lunatic? That only happened after I met you, so, sister, you have to take responsibility."
Bertha's chest heaved violently. "What on earth do you want to do?"
Clare Lewis raised an eyebrow slightly. "Haven't I made myself clear enough? I want to be your boyfriend."
Bertha glared at him, almost through gritted teeth, "In your dreams!"
The corner of Clare's mouth still held a smile.
"Don't be so quick to reject me. Although I really don't want to use threats to make you accept me, I'm out of time. I won't harm your family, but Amos Smith... you've seen my shooting skills, even from a thousand meters away, I never miss."
