The promised orange juice ended up being ginger tea.

"Drink some, warm your body up."

By November, the weather had turned completely chilly. Bertha Haines had soaked in the river for about an hour, and even though she took a hot shower, there was still some coldness lingering inside her.

"Thank you."

Bertha sipped from the porcelain cup, and as the hot liquid went down, her body quickly warmed up.

Noticing Amos Smith staring intently at her, she slightly rolled her eyes to glance at him, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Amos's deep eyes landed on Bertha's forehead, "That car accident left a scar on your forehead, you had three stitches."

Bertha raised her hand to gently touch her forehead. Indeed, there was a small scar, but it had faded completely and could barely be seen unless examined closely.

So, it was an injury from the car accident.
