Amos Smith knows Bertha Haines well enough to guess what she's thinking from her words and subtle expressions.
"You don't need to worry about providing for the family; your husband here is not so poor that he can't support his wife and kids."
Bertha's cheek was pinched out of shape by Amos. After she swatted his hand away, she softly explained.
"I like acting and recording variety shows. For me, that's not considered work."
"As long as you like it." Amos sighed lightly, his fingers gently pinching the nape of her neck, "How about I open an entertainment company? In the future, you can choose the best resources first, and the rest can go to others."
"No need, you should stick to what you're good at." Bertha directly refused, "I'm not constant; I might want to retire from the industry in a year or two."
