Chapter 79 - Chapter 79: Favoritism

Right from the start, Oliver Bloom exerted too much force, resulting in his shoulder, previously numbed, being exposed to irregular acceleration, causing the old injury to flare up again.

With only ten meters, eight meters, five meters left in the race...

The pain instantly overwhelmed his senses, rendering Oliver Bloom unable to control his right arm. He even wanted to slow down protectively, but it was too late; he could only let his shoulder mechanically repeat its movements.

In the final meter, Oliver Bloom touched the wall with his head, ending the race.

The arena was in an uproar, but Oliver Bloom couldn't care less, as the pain caused him to convulse and shiver uncontrollably for about half a minute before he could react.

It wasn't until the referee on the shore shouted to him, "Congratulations!"

Oliver Bloom pressed down on the water line with his left arm and turned to look.
