Oliver Bloom sat down, leaned back slightly, and asked a question that seemed unrelated.
"Dad, what do you think power is?"
Nathan Perry had wielded power all his life, yet he had never pondered this question, for his power was inherent.
Born into a prestigious family and married into another, his influence continuously expanded. He could override anyone, yet never pondered where that power originated or where it would end.
He said, "I'd like to hear your thoughts, future leader of the Perry Corporation."
The first real father-son heart-to-heart, taking place under such circumstances, was sighed upon by many.
"What is power? In my view, power means being able to uncover anyone's secrets without needing permission."
"As long as someone has secrets, there's no place that power can't reach."
Nathan Perry coldly smiled, "So, you've gathered dirt on the loyalists to control them?"
"Yes." Oliver Bloom's eyes were clear, "This is what you taught me, to watch and control them."
