After settling everything, Eric finally approached Abaddon. He didn't know how to explain the past—where to begin or which wound to touch first—but one thing was certain: he needed to talk. Whatever misunderstanding lay between them had to be erased.
"What is it that you want to talk about now?" Abaddon asked after following Eric into the room. His voice was cold, distant, yet his eyes betrayed the hurt he was trying so hard to suppress. "If you're here to ask for forgiveness, don't bother continuing this conversation. I won't forgive you. Three years, Eric…If you wanted to break up, you should've said it. Why did you have to be so cruel?"
"If all I wanted was a breakup," Eric said softly, pressing a finger against Abaddon's lips to stop him, "do you really think I'd go to such lengths?"
The words unsettled Abaddon. For a brief moment, he faltered. The Eric he knew could be ruthless, even merciless—but he had never once played with emotions.
