Chapter 7 - The Seven Sins

"The beast you have met… is Pride, one of the seven sins ruling Hell. And it humiliated you after giving you a curse mark which can't be healed by anyone else" Samael said.

Tenshi has no clue what Samael had said as he wasn't knowledgeable in these kinds of things. But after touching the mark on his chest, he felt anger. He felt anger at himself for being useless, for being weak.

"Can they help me escape from this place?" Tenshi asked, hoping Samael would answer this question, as this is very important to him.

"Yes, all seven sins carry a piece… a puzzle to open the gates of hell." responded Samael.

Dread… that was what Tenshi is currently feeling.

"D-Do I need to k-kill t-them?" Tenshi asked nervously. The previous anger disappeared, thinking about killing that gigantic Beast Pride.

"Kill, fuck, enslave… you can do whatever you want. Finding how to get the pieces is your problem… Now boy, I am getting irritated, so one more final question." Samael said, while feeling annoyed at Tenshi's cowardliness.

Tenshi closed his eyes and thought about what he wanted to ask. He knew at this moment and Samael's kindness might not come soon. So he sat down patiently and started thinking about what he should ask.

Finally decided, he stared at Samael confidently and said "How… Do I become powerful?"

Tenshi, in the beginning, was going to ask for information and weaknesses about the seven sins. But then he changed his mind after thinking about how it couldn't be useful if he had no power.

Thundering laughter from Samael ran through the area, and Tenshi felt his heart shake, thinking he might have made the mistake of asking a dumb question.

"Hahaha… I was sure you were an idiot, but you proved me wrong. Well, boy, you weren't entirely a human, and other than Holy power, you have many other things hiding in your soul. One power you currently have access to is the ability to see past, present, and future, though it depends on how accessible it is in your hands… Drinking the blood of a demon, you were able to 'gain' its magic power. Though it's just their magic, it can be useful as you have none. And how to use those powers? Find them yourself, hahaha."

Tenshi suddenly pulled away from his dream-like state and felt he was being licked.

Opening his eyes, he saw the worried face of Liya, the Leviathan who had been licking him and trying to wake him up.

"I am sorry for worrying you girl" Tenshi said as he started to calm Liya, who was shaking from anxiety.

Liya responded by rubbing its forehead on Tenshi's hand, in her way of saying it's 'all right.'

Tenshi looked at the meat on the ground and saw Liya's plate, which was only half-eaten. Guessing Liya might have been scared, thinking it was poisonous, seeing Tenshi's agony, he took the piece of meat from the ground and a bit into it. Soon Liya followed, seeing Tensho was fine.

Unlike previously, it didn't cause Tenshi harm. On the contrary, he felt a cooling sensation throughout his body. It didn't strengthen him, but it did something to him, and he knew it would help him in the long run.

"Wait," Tenshi said out, causing Liya to stop her meal and look at him.

Tenshi just realized he can… see.

No, he wasn't blind, but he wasn't able to see anything in this pitch-black cave other than the area around the campfire.

'So I can see in the dark?' Tenshi thought to himself while remembering what Samael had said about him being a half-human before.

'What else can I do?' Tenshi questioned himself again, trying to figure out his 'new' gained powers.

"Fire" Tenshi said while raising his hand. Instead of fire magically appearing in his hand like he expected, he only made a fool of himself. And it didn't help that Liya imitated him, showing how foolish he had looked.

Tenshi took a deep breath and sat down. He was contemplating how to access his power to see the past, present, and future -Samael talked about.

Tenshi knew he could trust Samael in this regard; as prideful as Samael is, Tenshi knew he wouldn't lie to him.

Staring at the last piece of meat, he decided to experiment with something.

Tenshi took the meat in his hand and closed his eyes. He was trying to feel the same unknown coolness through the body.

Fortunately for him, he wasn't born with this 'magic' before, so when he felt a sensation, he quickly remembered the feeling.

Suddenly, Tenshi was hit with many images or visions from someone's perspective. It was like watching a movie. So he 'laid' back and watched all the random visions he was getting.

After a few seconds, he returned to normal but was hit with a massive migraine, causing him to wince.

"*Groan*" Tenshi groaned as he rubbed his forehead; he felt his mind was in jumbles and couldn't think properly.

But all it took was a few seconds for the pain to subside and soon disappear.

"Well, that was… a wild experience" Tenshi commented out loud after expressing a roller coaster of experience from the dead imp he had killed.

Tenshi found how it hunts and saw the same worm-like creatures using the same tactics, using other imps for hunting prey. Imps are usually weak and accessible food for many beasts, so the worm-like creatures use them as traps. Unfortunately, Imps have little intelligence, so it wasn't able to figure out he was being used as bait.

'So the worm-like creatures who live underground with tentacle hands trap these imps in a bush and release them when prey is near. These tiny red creatures are everywhere, so it doesn't look like they are close to extinction' Tenshi thought.

Tenshi was sadly only able to get some helpful information because his magic had run out from using his power too much. So he decided to hunt down these imps and other tiny creatures from the visions to increase his mana.

Tenshi knew the potential of his powers. He wasn't a fan of fantasy or something like anime, so he watched none of them. But he was smart; he already realized the potential of his power. His power can see the past, which means -memories that are very useful for him as they contain knowledge.

◈ ━ ◆ ━ ◈

"Onii-san, were you able to find anything about him?" asked an adorable girl with beautiful red hair.

Her brother sighed and said "No… Rias-chan. I am kind of busy, so can you come another time?"

Rias was stunned to hear her brother. It was the first time in her life that her brother denied her and told her to leave. She then shook her head childishly and said "Nooo Onii-chan~ Please Please… he is impor-"

"*BAM* ENOUGH RIAS!"

Rias was startled; she had just seen her brother slap the desk or even yell at her. Her brother…. Who she adored, her brother, who gave her everything she had ever wanted. Be it a pony when she was a kid or help for her peerage was the first time shown anger towards her.

"R-Rias… Listen, I-I am Sor-"

Tears started coming from her eyes. She then stormed off without listening to her brother's apology.

The man in the chair felt terrible. He wanted to run towards her and hug her. He felt awful for the first time, yelling at his little sister, who he loved most in the entire world.

Grayfia, who came to submit her reports, saw the scene but didn't respond, as it wasn't her place to say anything. But she knew the reason for Sirzechs's anger. It was — Jealousy.

Sirzechs has been jealous ever since Rias told the family of her dream/vision of Tenshi. Her recent incident where she had 'seen' Tenshi about to die traumatized her.

First time in her life, she had started taking her training seriously. And it didn't sit well with Sirzechs, who has been coaxing Rias for years to take her training seriously. But now a stranger, a half-breed, made her change this drastically?

Grayfia once considered Sirzechs a friend, but finding out about his feelings towards her and his sister caused her to see Sirzechs in a new light.

"Thank you, Grayfia" Sirzechs thanked her as she handed him the files.

Grayfia respectfully bowed, and as she was about to leave, Sirzechs called her and said "Listen, Grayfia… About the previous incident… I am sorry for my behavior."

Grayfia didn't mind the last incident where she was magically pressured and ordered. Because she knew the subject of Rias was sensitive and a touchy subject for Sirzechs.

"No need to apologize, Maou-sama. It was my mistake that time" Grayfia said while maintaining her cold professional face.

Sirzechs's mood soured from being called 'Maou-sama'; he hated when Grayfia, who he loved, called him that. Sometimes he even wonders why he even took Lucifer's position.

Let me know how you felt about this chapter. I didn't make any heavy edits, so let me know if you think the quality decreased or not.

Did you feel any different? I saved almost an hour by only lightly editing this, so I had time to finish a chapter.

The heavy edits I talked about are just adding some fancy words and making sure they fit in the sentence. Though it may sound little, it takes a lot of time for me.

Should I maintain this style and keep the chapters like this

Change it, and let me know what I should improve on

Like always, ignore if you find any grammatical mistakes, and let me know any spelling errors.
