After saying goodbye to Mia Burton, Ava Kent left on her own.
It wasn't too late, and Ava was riding her little scooter, planning to buy some snacks to take home. Just as she stopped her vehicle, a blinding light flashed in her eyes, and she instinctively raised an arm to block it.
A roaring sound similar to a heavy motorcycle came from straight ahead, and the bright light didn't disappear. Hearing the vehicle approaching, Ava, sensing danger, leaped over the roadside greenery and rolled towards the nearby food street.
The sound of a crash came from behind. Ava turned her head to see her scooter had been hit and sent flying.
The person on the motorcycle wore a black helmet and was dressed in a bulky mascot costume, making it impossible to discern their height, build, or gender.
The attack wasn't successful, yet the assailant wasn't deterred, turning their bike to chase after her again.
Ava's heart jumped into her throat.
This wasn't an accident; someone was trying to kill her!
