Nancy was stopped and instinctively wanted to take action.
Although she didn't have any sharp weapons, she had hairpins in her hair, and a fierce strike could certainly injure someone.
But she hesitated; she didn't want Emma Lewis's wedding to be tainted with blood, as that would be inauspicious.
Thinking of Emma, Nancy held back.
In a hoarse voice, she said, "Who are you? What do you want?"
The woman in the red dress chuckled lightly, "Oh, so you're not mute. But why does your voice sound so awful? It startled me. Don't be nervous, we're guests here to attend the wedding, we won't harm you. We just thought you looked nice and wanted to get to know you, ask which family you're from."
The woman's words seemed harmless, but they unmistakably had a malicious undertone.
Nancy suppressed the irritation in her heart and said in a low voice, "I don't want to know you. Please make way now."
