The Domain of Void does not require mechanics, only aesthetics.
The 'Xeno Research Institute Central Control Room' that appeared in front of Ian is the product of this design philosophy.
It is a giant sphere with a radius of over five hundred meters, its inner wall made up of millions of monitoring screens of varying sizes, and at the center of the sphere is the solitary control seat.
A broken corpse sits quietly there.
The reason it's called broken is simple... because the skull of this skeleton has been removed, held in the body's arms.
This skull isn't just the head; it's been pulled out along with the spine below it.
But even with such cruel and terrifying injuries, the skeleton appears very tranquil.
If not for holding its own head in its arms, Ian might even think, this is a peaceful old man lying on his own rocking chair.
