He actually didn't have anything in mind, if they couldn't come up with anything, they could just stay in the sitting area and watch some TV or movies together lazing on the couches or just go over to the home theater and watch a movie, all that can be another form of spending time together.
Staying indoors didn't give them much options. And then, if they didn't want to exhaust themselves, they could stay in bed and read stories. It wasn't a bad way of bonding.
