The next morning in school was quiet as usual. The twins broke the news to Tahila and Benita. Tahila won't believe it and laughed it off until Erek showed her their mom's picture.
"That's the same woman. She's...my mom?", Tahila said, tears rolling down her eyes. Erek was in much more pain as tons of regret pierced his body whenever he remembered how he walked out on a dying man who would later turn out to be his father. The police were contacted by the twins and investigations were swiftly carried out. Tahila's blood had been taken that morning by APTA DNA studies Company sponsored by Mrs. Elizabeth. The result would be given to them a day later. Tahila watched as Mrs. Elizabeth got out of the car and approached her. The two quickly hugged out with tears and sobbing. Mrs. Gilbert stood by, exchanging information with the police. She had adopted Tahila from a mafia boss residing in the northern part of Nigeria. She was shocked to find out that Tahila had been a kidnapped victim that the police have been looking for, for the past sixteen years. After dealing with the police, she moved back to Tahila and hugged her tearfully. She coughed back tears she didn't want to cry.
"I'm so glad I met you", Mrs. Gilbert said tearfully as she wiped her daughter's eyes.
"Thank you for everything mom", Tahila said, releasing herself from the hug. She waved her goodbye as she got into her car and drove off. She turned back to face the twins.
"Umm… being siblings is weird, isn't it?" She laughed softly. Both joined.
"So, you will be moving over to our place after your upcoming exams. I'll respect your decision and allow you to spend time with Mrs. Gilbert during and after your exams", Mrs. Elizabeth said.
"Of course, mom", Tahila replied. She quickly waved goodbye to her and followed her brothers back inside the school building.

At exactly 1 pm, the bell rang out for a break. Jack gave a sigh of relief as the teacher release them from the physics lab. He moved out quickly with Honor and made for the classroom. He ran down the flights of stairs and took a turn that led to his classroom hallway. From the end of the hallway, Ikenna stood with his friends. Jack quickly paused, Honor almost colliding into him from behind. Jack counted them, they were seven boys including Ikenna. One had an unfamiliar face.
"What's the punishment for a junior student bringing in an outsider", Jack said aloud.
"Doesn't matter once I'm done with you", Ikenna replied.
"These are the guys we beat up. He brought more friends, especially the one on the left with a strap bag who is not a student here", Jack whispered to Honor.
"Oh really. How did he get a uniform?" Honor replied.
"Must have gotten it from Ikenna", Jack said as Ikenna covered the distance between them.
"Show me what you are capable of, Don Pillar", Jack said. Having a demi angel on his team gave him enough confidence, he felt unstoppable. Honor nodded and charged at them. He slipped through the air easily, dodging and counter-attacking everyone in his way. He grabbed Ikenna's wrist and twisted it, leaving Ikenna in pain and agony. He leapt in the air and gave a roundhouse kick to three charging boys and sent them slamming into the wall. Honor was so swift everything felt like it went in slow motion. He punched another guy in the face and kicked his stomach, sending him spinning midair. Kennedy had a dagger and flung it at Honor which he easily caught and projected it back at his kneecap. It pierced through, spilling out blood. Kennedy screamed out with agonizing pain as he fell down. Jack watched in horror as Honor single-handedly fought all of them. His attention was more on the outsider with a strapped bag. A bag he was weary of after seeing the boy attempt to unzip it. Students ran outside their classrooms to watch and screamed in excitement; many were cheering Honor. Jack didn't want Honor to take the glory alone so he charged into the fight, charging directly to the outsider. The guy dipped his hand into his bag and brought out a pistol. He was about to fire when Jack kicked it off his hands, the gun slipped through the ground toward the groaning Kennedy. Kennedy quickly grabbed it and fired at Honor. Honor ducked as the bullet narrowly missed him. He whispered something as the gun fell off Kennedy's hands and he picked it up. Students began scrambling back into classes after the first gunshot. The building security alarm went off instantly. The outsider overpowered Jack to the ground and ran at Honor. Honor squeezed the trigger. Slowly, the gun barked and the bullet whizzed past the air and found its way to the outsider's chest. The boy stopped midway and fell to the ground. His uniform clothes became flooded with a pool of blood. Honor stood paralyzed. Everyone stopped what they were doing and watched in horror. They quickly all scrambled outside except Kennedy who crawled with the dagger still in his leg. Instantly, memories began flooding Honor's head on the situation that unfolded in his previous school. He saw himself burning Daniel to ashes.
"Monster…monster", Kennedy cried as he noticed Honor's eyes glowing. Jack sat where he was, leaning against the wall bleeding through the nose.
"Why!!" Honor yelled out to the air. The gun slipped off his hands as he knelt down. Sweats hung at his forehead, his hands rocking tremendously. His eyes ceased to glow and he fainted.

"That was the second person I killed, at age seventeen", Don Pillar said. Reverend Chibuike nodded.
"What happened afterwards?" Reverend Chibuike asked.
"I was sentenced to prison for ten years. By the time I was out, my educational career was over. Unfortunately, my grandparents had an accident when I was behind bars. They didn't make it. As a convict, I couldn't get a job either. I was begging and homeless until I ran into Jack a year later. Jack too was expelled from school and became a dropout. He introduced me to his gang that was formed after dropping out of school. We started robbing people all over Nigeria. Our operations were from state to state until we covered all thirty-six states until karma caught up with us", Don Pillar said, getting instant flashbacks.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
"Get on the floor! Now!!" Don Pillar pointed the gun at the man standing in front of him.
"It's all the money we have. Don't do this", the man begged. His wife and two kids were lying on the floor already.
"Join us, Daniel. We will get through this. Just let them have that one", his wife begged, sobbing. The man refused. He dashed at Don Pillar when he wasn't looking. "You won't have our money", the man hurled himself at him. Don Pillar fell to the ground, his gun slipping off his hands. He got on top of Don Pillar and choked him. Don Pillar unsheathes his side dagger on his waist and drove it through the man's chest. The man's grip loosened and Don Pillar pushed him off. Blood spilled through his chest as he gasped for air.
"You bastard!" The woman yelled out, Don Pillar gun in her hands. Jack came downstairs after hearing noises and screams downstairs. The man's wife quickly fired at Jack as he entered the living room. She fired over and over again until the bullets ran out. Bullets sank into Jack's body and forehead as he quickly fell to the ground. The other four gang members guarding the compound ducked quickly after hearing the gunshots. Don Pillar slowly got up and looked at Jack's lifeless body and back at the shivering woman and the crying kids.
"I Call upon the flames of hell to rain down upon my foes", Don Pillar said as they were quickly set ablaze suddenly.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
"You killed them?" The Reverend sounded shocked.
"Every last of them for what they did to Jack", Don Pillar replied. By the time we were about to get away with the money, the police arrived. The whole neighborhood was surrounded. We weren't going to give up that easily, so we opened fire. Loads of good men died back there. I was the only survivor he added.
"Good men? Do you mean arm robbers?" Asked reverend Chibuike with a raised eyebrow.
"Though they were armed robbers, they were good people. One of the men that died was a single father with two kids who just needed money to pay for his daughter's surgery"
"Why couldn't he just get a job…...''
"The system is corrupt. Money laundering is the law of the day. How come politicians and elites get away with it but poor people or average get killed for the same crime," Don Pillar smoked a joint he held.
"Finish the story", Reverend Chibuike said.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Don Pillar ran across the road, taking a turn to his left. As he ran through the lonely road with his thigh and waist bleeding, he cursed silently. He tripped over something and crashed against the ground. The money bag fell over with bundles of naira notes scattered on the ground. He willed his body to move but it wouldn't. He was badly injured as rounds of stray bullets found their way into his body. An ordinary human would die by now after that many bullets. Good thing he had a stronger life force as a demi-angel than the rest. Two of his men had sustained injuries and were caught. Voices of raging men with marching boots and barking dogs started getting louder. Flashlights penetrated the dark sky as the noise came closer. Don Pillar gnashed his teeth in pain as he stood up once again.
"Hey over here", a voice spoke. Don Pillar looked over his shoulder and saw a child near the trash bin.
"The police are closing in. Come with me, I will hide you", the child said. Don Pillar hesitated.
"There's no need to be paranoid. Let me help you. Unless you want to get caught.", the kid sits.
"Pack them. Every last one of them" Don Pillar said. The boy quickly moved and did as he was told. He stacked the money notes into the black leather bag and for those that were scattered from the bunch, he tucked them into his dirty khaki shorts. Swinging the bag over his shoulders, he moved to Don Pillar to help him. They quickly got into a midway-open shop and closed it behind them.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
The chirping of the early birds woke Don Pillar up. His eyes struck the white ceiling. His body still ached with pain as he looked around him. He laid on a stack of bamboo sticks tied together with raffia. A flat foam was placed on top of it to make it more comfortable to lie on. Don Pillar tried getting up but fell back down on each attempt with excruciating pains
"You haven't completely healed yet. Even though you recovered faster than I expected. Also, the bullets came off as though your skin pushed them off. Weird", a low tender voice sprang up. Don Pillar turned to face the voice. He remembered getting into a shop with a kid and passing right out almost immediately. He looked at the kid carefully still in the dark.
"Come out of the dark so I can see you", Don Pillar said. The boy boldly moved to the window and opened the contents. Rays of bright light forced their way into the dark room, driving out the darkness.
"You are just a child", Don Pillar said, trying to sit up once more.
"I told you to rest. It took me time to tend to your words and stop the bleeding. Any slightest movement will open those up", the little boy said.
"You dressed my wounds", Don Pillar said, looking stunned. He felt heavy bandages around his thigh and waist.
"How old are you again?" Don Pillar asked.
"I'm nine years old sir", the boy replied.
"How are you feeling now?"
"I'm getting better. The pain is little, unlike yesterday...''
"Yes, I knew it!'
"Knew what?"
"It's those injections I gave you, I injected you with painkillers". The boy said excitedly.
"Okay. That's smart of you", Don Pillar said, totally impressed.
"And I took some money to buy-------"
"You took my money?!" Don Pillar exclaimed.
"Some money. Not the whole thing sir. I only took a little to get those drugs for you"
"You little rascal. Don't go near my money again".
"I also brought ice cream and shawarma for myself",
"What?"
"It only cost five thousand naira. Also, you should keep your voice down. The police are still around, a search party is out there for you. Your partners that were caught are already in flaming tires" the boy said calmly.
"They burnt them?" Don Pillar asked. It was common for thieves to be set ablaze with tires if they were caught by locals. They could only be saved if the police intervened.
"Every last one of them. The police gave them over to the locals and partook in the exercise. It was a horrible scene to witness. They were beaten and set ablaze. They manage to extract Intel from them about you, Don Pillar", the boy said. Don Pillar kept calm. Anger and sadness gripped his entire body as hot tears rolled down his cheeks.
"Don't cry. They won't find you here", the boy said
"Shut up boy. Make no mistake, I weep for my fellow comrades. Every one of their deaths will not go unpunished", Don Pillar said, wiping his tears.
"I'm weeping for the police because they don't know what is coming. They will feel the terror of Don Pillar".
"The boy kept quiet
"What is your name, boy?" Don Pillar asked.
"Divine, Divine Opara", Divine replied.
"Well Divine. You are bold and smart. You reminded me of a friend of mine, Jack", Don Pillar smiled.
"He is dead right?" Divine asked.
"Yes, he is", Don Pillar replied. The room fell quiet once again
"When will I heal properly?"
"Umm… give it a week"
"A week? Exclaimed Don Pillar. "Is that too long? Okay, guess what? If you rest properly, you can heal in two days maybe", Divine said. He stood, marched to a wooden cupboard and took out a small white nylon. He empties its content on the table nearby. Don Pillar successfully forced himself to sit up.
"Are they that much?" Don Pillar asked, seeing the quantity of drugs pulled out.
"Are all these just for one person?" Don Pillar asked again. Divine gave no response and concentrated on what he was doing. He took a jug of water and handed it to Don Pillar.
"I usually take my drugs conservatively. How about you?" Divine poured the tablet into his hand. Don Pillar flushed down the entire drugs at once with the water he held. Divine's mouth opened as he stared.
"You are a legend. You took everything at a stretch", Divine said, excitedly.
"Yeah. Is that all the medication? Don Pillar asked.
"Remaining this", Divine smiled, holding a syringe.
"No No no. You are not putting that into my body", Don Pillar said. Divine smiled as he grabbed his right hand with his soft little hands. He quickly inserted the needle into his arm. Don Pillar protested and pushed against the cap, forcing the liquid into his body. After a while, Don Pillar laid back on the bed. His vision becomes blurry by the second.
"What…did you do…...to me boy...", Don Pillar's voice dragged. He felt himself falling down into a dark pit as his eyes shut down.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
The chief inspector of police, 82 division headquarters, stared at the series of pictures and reports he held. His eyes fixed on the burnt arm-robbers in flaming tires. A wide smile stretched at both ends of his lips. "Wasted souls. That is the end result of greed", the chief murmured to himself. A knock came at his door which he responded to.
"Good day sir", a female officer emerged with a briefcase with her.
"Do you have them?" Chief Obi asked.
"Yes. These are the slightest sketches of what our escapee looks like", she replied and handed him some documents and a sketch boom.
"I can swear on my late father's corpse that our bullet had no effect on that man. He was the only survivor that escaped. It was truly frightening", the lady said, taking note of the puzzled look on his face. The rough sketch wasn't enough for the chief to place a wanted list to identify the rogue.
"This man alone was responsible for the death of eight colleagues of yours?"
"Yes sir. He is immortal, like a god...''
"There's no such thing as that. I will kill him myself if I have to. Moreover, we have other games to play for now", the chief cut her off. "How much did the boys get from the peasants today at the market and roads?" Chief Obi switched the conversation quickly. The lady smiled and handed him the briefcase.
"One hundred thousand naira in total", she replied proudly.
"Angel, I always trust you to do a nice job and you never failed", Chief Obi said, counting the stash. Officer Angel smiled.
"Here's twenty thousand. Well done", Chief Obi said and handed her some money. She gave appreciation and dismissed herself.

Don Pillar woke up the next day in the evening. He had been asleep for twenty-four good hours. His body rocked with hunger and fatigue. He sat up easily and noticed all the pain was gone.
"Divine! Divine!" Don Pillar shouted. Divine immediately ran into the room with a cooking pot in his hand
"Yes. You called", Divine replied.
"Yes, I did. Don't you ever inject that drug into my body again", Don Pillar said angrily. The whole day he was blackout, he was in hades with the same angel he met last time. This time around, the angel appeared as a six-headed dragon. It was the most frightening and amusing thing ever for Don Pillar. The fallen angel had requested for more humans to be destroyed by him. Remember, your mother can only be released by me if you bring me a thousand souls in exchange. Currently, you are six hundred so far. The angel said before he left.
"I'm cooking indomitable models and some fried eggs for us", Divine said with a beaming smile. "Also why does that necklace keep glowing sometimes", Don Pillar looked at it. From all he could remember, it was a protective necklace against tracking from holy angelic beings out to destroy him after the havoc he has brought on the earth.
"None of your business", Don Pillar responded as the smell of fried eggs found its way into his nostrils. A few minutes later, he would be devouring and tearing them apart with his yellow-stained teeth. Divine took away his plates to wash them after he was done eating.
"So, what now?" Divine asked, entering back the room. Don Pillar looked at him with those cold lifeless eyes of his.
"Revenge", he replied.
"On who?" Asked Divine.
"The people responsible for my friend's death".
"You should forget all about that and start a new life. Vengeance belongs to the eternal ones alone."
"Damn the eternal ones too. They will pay for their sins too. The death of those responsible for my friend's death is inevitable. I will wipe them all out and hand their souls to the dark ones", Don Pillar raised his voice, with gnashed teeth.
"They aren't good people either. All they do is wear fancy uniforms, and point their guns at innocent people to extort money from them''
''I believe you, Don Pillar, the police aren't innocent either. They work for the elites", Divine said with a straight face. He hated the police, every last one of them. The corruption and extortion from innocent poor people were getting out of hand too.
"Where are your parents?" Don Pillar asked, flushing Divine's mind back to the room.
"I'm an orphan. I ran away from the orphanage home because of the cruelty of the Reverend sisters there. I was told my parents dropped me off on a cold night in front of the orphanage home just when I was a month off and drove off", Divine said, his eyes getting wet.
"So, you have been living in this abandoned store?" Don Pillar asked.
"Yes".
"Do you attend school?"
''I used to, at the orphanage before I ran away".
Don Pillar nodded and moved to his bag. He unzipped it, brought out some bundles of cash and arranged them on the wooden table next to each other.
"This is for you. You have been a great help to me. I must now part ways with you. This is two million naira. Get to the best boarding school in town and fulfilled your educational career..."
''I don't want your money", Divine sobbed. "You want to abandon me now? After everything, we've been through….''
"Theres no such thing as we. We have only known each other for three days. I'm a criminal. If the police find out you cooperate with a criminal, you are going to juvenile", Don Pillar interrupted. Divine sobbing continued. He took the money from the table and threw it away. Pieces of clean money scattered across the ground.
"Stop doing that", Don Pillar warned. Divine paid deaf ears and continued.
"Divine!" Don Pillar yelled. Divine stopped and stared at him.
"What do you want?" Don Pillar asked.
"I want you to stay with me. I want you to be my father and take me along with you….''
"Woah Woah Woah! Hold it down, little man. First of all, I'm not ready for parenting. Also, I'm sure armed robbers and hardened criminals aren't the best choice of parents you would wish for. Unless you would start threatening to blow your teacher's head off. Secondly, you cannot go where I am going neither will you survive where I'm going", Don Pillar objected.
"I don't care. You must take me with you or I'll tell the police to come get you.", Divine threatened.
"Go ahead. I don't even think they will be alive tonight after I'm done with them", Don Pillar laughed. Divine immediately grabbed a nearby silencer pistol on the table.
"You don't even know how that works", Don Pillow chuckled. Divine shot up a ceramic plant beside him, it busted into pieces with pieces of glass flying over Don Pillar. Don Pillar smiled, looking impressed.
"And where did you learn that from?" Don Pillar asked, stepping towards him. Divine quickly fixed the gun at his temple.
"Woah! Alright, little guy, the jokes are over. Hand me that gun", exclaimed Don Pillar. Divine didn't flinch a single muscle, his finger lay on the trigger.
"I don't want to go back to that world of loneliness", Divine cried. His hand shook tremendously with fear and anger. Don Pillar summoned boldness and walked towards him.
"Don't come any closer. I will shoot, I'm not playing", Divine said, taking a few steps back.
"You lived once and die once", Don Pillar said. In a split second, as he was inches away from Divine, he grabbed his arm and twisted it. The gun fell off and he caught it. Divine stood astonished. He could swear all he saw was a flash of lightning and a strong breeze hit his face and "boom!", the gun was out of his hands. Don Pillar walked back to the table and unzipped another leather bag he pulled beneath the bamboo bed he laid on. He brought out an AK-47 rifle, an AR-15 semi-automatic, flash grenades and some seven- inches dagger
"Where are you going? Divine asked as Don Pillar loaded them.
"I told you their deaths are inevitable".
"Whose death?"
"The ones responsible for my friend's deaths"
"Do you have to get revenge? Vengeance is for the eternal ones-------
"The eternal ones!!?" Don Pillar yelled out with gnashed teeth. "Are nothing more than a myth. Even if they are real, I can single-handedly crush them", he added, licking a dagger.
"So, you don't believe in the eternal ones?" Divine asked.
"I'll be back boy", Don Pillar said. He arranged his tools back into the leather bag and swung it on his shoulder. He looked at the stopwatch on his right wrist. 7:01 pm. is perfect. Don Pillar whispered and walked out of the store into the dark road
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Don Pillar stood at the roadside for minutes, minutes turning into hours. By the time the taxi finally came, it was 9 pm on the dot. This was indeed perfect for hum as dark was the best hunting time for a demi angel of death. He flagged down an incoming taxi and got in.
"Destination?", the driver spoke as soon as his passenger got in.
"82 divisions please", Don Pillar said as they drove off
"That will be two hundred naira", the driver responded. His eyes fixed on the darn figure in the back seat through his rear mirror. For the next minutes of the journey, total silence was in effect. The taxi stopped at the bus stop and Don Pillar came down with his heavy bag. He passed the driver one thousand naira note.
"I don't have change", the driver said almost immediately.
"Keep it", Don Pillar's deep voice spoke out. The driver smiled and drove off. Don Pillar got out two English guns and added a suppressor to them each and sheathed them back in their holsters. He walked to the gate of the police headquarters and was about to knock when it opened and an armed officer popped out. Don Pillar could tell he was drunk because he staggered out.
"Who are you?" The officer asked.
"I'm just a traveler. I believe I am lost and I don't know who to ask since the streets are deserted. I need directions", Don Pillar replied. The officer sluggishly rolled his eyes at him and grabbed Don Pillar by his belt.
"Give me something. Let me have a thousand naira or you will spend the night in this station. Don't you know you're violating code 14551?"
"And what does the code say?"
"Why are you questioning me?" The officer frowned angrily. His eyes fixed on the large bag Don Pillar held and smiled instantly
"What's in the bag? Money, I suppose", the officer asked, staggering whilst holding on to Don Pillar's belt
"These are just my clothes, sir. I have done nothing wrong", Don Pillar kept a sad and terrified face. The officer was enjoying this and kept getting aggressive.
"Open em", the officer said, letting go of his victim. "Keep the bag on the floor and step back", he ordered. Don Pillar did as he was told and laid the bag on the ground, hiding his grin. The officer rushed to unzip the bag and froze to his surprise. He looked back up and faced an English gun with a suppressor pointed at his forehead
"One", Don Pillar said as he pulled the trigger. Blood and brain matter spilled across the ground as he dropped dead.
"Drinking on the job is a bad idea. Even an idiot knows that", Don Pillar smiled as he walked over to the body. He quickly set his timer on his stopwatch to thirty minutes as he entered the building. He quickly fired at the two policemen he ran into.
"Now that's how I want it. Peace and quick", Don Pillar said. He inhaled the smoke from the gun's nozzle. He was quickly distracted by the walkie talkie radio belonging to one of the fallen officers.
"Benjamin, Benjamin do you copy?" The voice spoke up.
"I repeat. Do you copy? Over", the distressed voice spoke again. Don Pillar picked up the blood-stained radio and replied
"Roger. What's the emergency?" Don Pillar said. There was a bit of hesitancy on the other end of the line.
"Is everything okay out there? Over the voice spoke.
"Everything is cool. The boys and I were just taking a stroll. Over"
"Copy that", the radio went dark. Don Pillar tossed it away. An idea came to his mind and he laughed as he walked. The idea of having his victims be terrified before they hit the bucket, was a good idea for him. He opened his bag and got out his AR-15 semi-automatic and swung it over his shoulder. He strapped his waist with live and smoke grenades as he walked into the building. As soon as he entered the building, he opened fire at the offices at the counter desk. Barking of guns and screaming invaded the quiet surrounding.
"Officer down. Officer down. We are being attacked, requesting..." boom!! The grenade went off beside the wounded officers.
"Eleven" Don Pillar counted, walking over bodies. The floor was stained with blood and shattered glass. From the far end of the building, his ears picked up marching boots and angry voices approaching. He smiled to himself and tossed two flash grenades at the end of the corner. It exploded at the perfect timing as the officers ran into the passage. Yells and groaning arose as they all scrambled to the ground, temporarily blinded by the blast.
"Shit! Shit!" Some officers yelled as they opened fire blindly at each other. More screams and agony. Don Pillar came out of his hiding spot and opened fire on the remaining wounded officers. They all fell dead as the pool of blood became wider. Twenty. Perfect. Don Pillar whispered. He quickly reloaded and walked over to them. A weak hand grabbed his leg. He turned to face the dying officer. The officer looked terrified at what looked like a human with large angelic wings. He coughed out blood and gave up the ghost, his hand slipped off. Don Pillar smiled and knelt down to close the officer's eyes. He continued moving and ascended the staircase on his right end. As he climbed, he quickly fired at officers running down the stairs. They screamed in pain as they rolled down the stairs. Don Pillar shot at them more until they were lifeless. He killed more hiding officers on the first floor as he approached the chief's office. He pulled at the door knob and it was locked. With a slight pull, the metal door came off its hinges and crashed into the wall behind Don Pillar. His eyes fixed their gaze on a large brown leather travelling bag. He took his dagger and tore the bag. He frowned at the bundles of neatly stacked money. Corrupt policemen. This is how they make themselves richer and the poor poorer. Don Pillar thought. He tore a piece of paper nearby and wrote on the table.
"I'll do you the favor by returning the looted money back to the marketers and family you stole from. Also consider this revenge for the people you burnt in broad daylight ".
He finished writing and kept the note and the desk. He grabbed the bag and turned to leave when an armed female officer ran into him.
"Don't move", the lady spoke, her gun pointed at Don Pillar. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. At the sight of his huge body and wings, she began shivering.
"What are you?" Her voice shaking.
"I go by many names", Don Pillar replied, taking a step. The officer moved back.
"Don't move. I'm going to put a bullet in your brain if you do", she shouted.
"Such boldness", Don Pillar stopped. "Officer Angel, instead of it?" He asked.
"How do you know my name? Why did you do all this? What are you?" She fired at him.
"Easy woman. One question at a time", Don Pillar said, his wings gently flapping. "First of all, how can you bear the name Angel when you rob people?''
The question hit Angel hard because she lowered her gun.
"You are supposed to defend the helpless and poor. Yet you use your position for evil. If the eternal ones were true, you should be dead by now. Secondly, as to why I did all this. You all deserve to die after how you set my comrades ablaze"
"Don Pillar?" Angel murmured, shakily. She pointed her gun at him again. Her fiancé had died in a gun battle last week with some armed robbers. She had pushed for the captured survivors to be set ablaze in revenge.
"You are going to die here. I swear of my fiancé's grave", Angel said, pulling the trigger. Don Pillar's large wings wrapped around him. The bullets squeezed and bounced off on impact. Her ammo quickly finished and she quickly proceeded to reload Don Pillar hurled himself at her, and both of them rolled out of the office. Angel quickly got up and gave him a hard kick against his face as he slowly got up. He rolled backwards and crashed against the hard tiles. She took out her dagger and hurled it at him. Don Pillar narrowly dodged it, the tip of the blade cutting his left cheek. She whispered at him again but he caught her arm and twisted it. Angel screamed in pain as the dagger dropped. She launched a kick at him, hurling him backwards. Don Pillar got up; his wings spread widely behind him. They clapped softly against each other, Don Pillar lifted up from the ground and suspended midair. His stopwatch alarm went off.
"It's time to end this", he said, stretching out his hand. Sparks of electricity danced around his fist as he pointed it at her.
"Time to go to sleep", Don Pillar said, as the stored-up electricity ran through the air and struck her. She immediately fell down, blackout. He let himself down and walked back into the office to grab back the bag.
"I don't kill pretty ladies", Don Pillar glanced at her fainted body on his way out. Once he was outside the building, the sounds of sirens were coming closer. He quickly kicked off the ground and flew away.

A hard knock came at Mr. Okafor's door at 2:30 am in the early morning. Don Pillar stood silently waiting for a response. The cold early morning Breeze caressed his body as he stood. The door opened gently and an old man popped out.
"I believe you are the market and town manager?" Don Pillar asked immediately.
"Yes, I am. How may I help you?" Mr. Okafor replied swiftly and terrified.
"I'm not here to hurt you. I believe this belongs to your community ", Don Pillar tossed the bag at his feet.
"What is this?" The old man bent to unzip it.
"This is all the money the police have been stealing from your community I suppose. I have recovered them, make sure it goes round.
"Recovered them? How did you convince Chief Obi and his thugs to…..." his voice trailed off instantly as he noticed his visitor's cloth was covered in blood.
"Oh, my goodness! You did not possible…"
"I did. It will be on the news today. Do make sure you give the people or anyone affected back their share. If not, I will come back for you", Don Pillar threatened. His wing sprouted out again and he flew away. Mr. Okafor's mouth fell open in fear and amazement. He probably thought his eyes were playing pranks on him.
"How ironic", Mr. Okafor said finally and carried the bag inside, shutting the door behind him.
