A week later .
Raye was seated in the class together with Jane and Danielle who was holding her backpack about to leave .
"Finally next month basketball is going to begin ".
"Yeah , I am so happy " Jane said excitedly while Raye just offered them a weak smile .
She was happy at the same time she wasn't .
It's been a month , tomorrow would make it a new month now and she had gotten nothing .
She still haven't found out who the boy is _ she never thought she would be this curious to know someone and he haven't texted her since the last message she sent .
Nothing for a whole week .
Did he give up she asked herself every night but there was no one to reply or give her answers to her unspoken questions .
It hurt ,somehow it did .
She had started to like him _ not enough though but her friend and she had confided in him .
Telling him how she wished it was him she went out on a date with but he didn't reply .
She glanced at Jane and then Danielle who was smiling happily as she tried to concentrate on their conversation.
"Why are you so excited about this whole basketball thing ?" She asked still drawing an invisible circle on the desk with her pencil .
"I plan on telling him ,on that day , he is part of the basketball team ".
"Wow that nice ,that means we would meet you there , am I right Raye ?" Jane asked purposely cause she noticed her friend was spacing out .
"Yeah - yeah sure we would em meet you ".
Danielle frowned staring at Raye who didn't seem excited the way she was before when she heard the basketball practice would begin .
"Raye are you sick or something , you look dull today ?".
Raye smiled softly staring at Danielle face which had concern written over it .
"Don't worry about me , Dan , I'm just tired ".
"O ,k just rest a little bit if you are free ,dont stress yourself , I need you guys to be fully active tomorrow because it going to be the day I tell him and also I need your support ".
"Yeah don't worry we would be there to cheer you and if he misbehaves we would be there to throw a ball at him ".
Danielle giggled softly at Jane's comment , immediately a teacher called Raye .
Raye glanced at Jane and then at Danielle before she stood up .
She heard Jane asked .
"What's his name ?" Before she walked straight to the teacher who was standing at the front of the class .
"Kyle ".
Jane frowned confused at first .
Wait Kyle she thought hard and then she remembered.
"You mean Kyle third year senior , the bad boy ".
Danielle nodded with a frown " he is not that bad ".
"Oh hush , his gotten suspension really good but damn girl you got taste I can't believe you go for him , he is so hot "
Jane commented and she meant it , Kyle even thought quiet , and scary was every girls dream .
Call it stupidity or anything ...girls just like hottie ,with smirk even though they get suspension like it's breakfast .
He was so handsome , unfortunately he never dated anyone or at least to her knowledge .
She didn't know much about the third year student _ speaking of third year .....
"Girl, he would be graduating soon and you still wanna go for it??? ".
"Mhm of course I do , I really like him so much , he isn't bad that much just tiny anger issues and a small dose of bad temper ...he helped me ones to do my assignment and girl I passed so well ".
Jane raised a brow clearly amused " so he is smart too , that's just great".
"Yeah , he is , you know my creative writing test scores , were I got first and all ".
Yeah sure Jane was shocked when the teacher said Danielle scored first before her _she was always the first at creative writing .
Cause she had a thing for writing _ It was her favorite subject but when Danielle scored first she was so surprised.
"He did that too , you know, I wondered how you ever boost up to that level just like that ".
"Yeah kinda of , I helped him out once, when he forgot his backpack in practice hall , he was just in the basketball courts as always playing when a fight broke out so he forgot his backpack and so I helped him "
Jane laughed out , the guy had a thing for fight and his victim _ well they learn lessons after the whole mess .
A frown settled on her forehead as she realize something .
"Danielle have you guys , actually..like talked together ..normal conversation apart from practice thing "..
Danielle bit her lip shaking her head in a no to see Jane eyes widen .
"The guy is so hard and stony , he literally doesn't talk to any girl ,do you think its a problem " .
Oh sure it was Jane wanted to say but shook her head in a no with a tight smile .
They hadn't even gotten to that direction yet and jugding from what Danielle said ..
The guy must take her like some random girl and also it seemed like he was trying to return the favor too. .
"Have you guys talked after the whole lesson stuff?"..
" Na , I guess either his busy or just avoiding me ...but I am not going to give up ...I must tell him tomorrow" .
Jane clicked het tongue silently, the look in Danielle face wasn't something good. .
It felt like she was obsessed with this guy. .
It was clear through the signs , he had no interest but why did she even want to try ..
Sighing again she massged her forehead feeling frustrated at this situation .
She couldn't talk her out , not like she would even accept so instead she'll give her some boost.
He might still like her though, some people don't really show their feelings yet maybe scared of rejection or just them not wanting to accept it .
But they might actually be crushing on you silently.
Beisde Kyle , never really talked to girls that much , he always seen with two boys ...one of them especially.
For him to talk to her , that means there was something .
"That's nice I would really love to meet and talk to him , I wish you good luck " Jane said giving Danielle a thumbs up who grinned childishly.
Danielle nodded as Raye came back to seat down with a tired face.
"I have to go, I have class now , Jane bye and Raye take care " Danielle said turning around she left quickly.
"Ok dan "
"Sure Danny " Jane said waving a good bye before turning to Raye .
"So what were you wishing her ".
"Let's talk about you first , what is going on , why are you looking like someone who is mourning ".
Raye stared at Jane before letting out along sigh .
"Jane I am tired and confused ".
"Mhm , it's obvious just elaborate more ".
"It's about the guy , mystery guy he didn't text me for a week and the whole hide and seek game is killing me he should just come out " .
Jane stared at Raye who looked serious she decided not to say something sarcastic as she said .
"Oh my poor friend , he finally got you ...even I have become so bored about all this whole thing ...he doesn't give the vibe again ".
"I am done searching for him I dropped two hello but no reply and believe me I think he saw it but ignore my message".
"He might be busy ".
Raye stared at Jane who shrugged with an anxious smile .
She wasn't sure but she was trying to make her feel better so she said it .
"Busy , he saw my last message before the whole week thing and now nothing ". Raye complained running her hand through her short hair she said . " I am done with this whole cat and mouse game , I am going to send him a message if he doesn't reply or show up , I won't text him ever again ".
Jane couldn't argue , when Raye looked like she had already made her mind up .
Beside the idea was good, she wouldn't ask her friend to continue to pang on a guy .
"Yes do that " she said placing her hand on Raye shoulder who nodded slowly . "But until then, we are getting prepared for basketball , we haven't gone to the the street basketball court for a long time , still think you got your skills ?" Jane asked winking at Raye who smiling softly .
"You bet I do partner ".
