Survival utility is actually somewhat different from natural selection, yet they share certain similarities.
Survival utility is an active behavior of organisms, utilizing proactive changes to adapt to their living environment. In natural selection, the changes in organisms are random. If these random changes are beneficial for survival, the organism increases in number through reproduction, whereas if these changes are detrimental, the organism is eliminated; this process is passive.
However, their final outcome is the same, which is the survival of the fittest.
