As I wake up to the sound of the early morning chatter of birds and students I groan and get out of bed to get ready for the day.
Thirty minutes later I step out of my room and head to the students lounge to see if any of my friends are there, I spot them easily as I step in and decide to give them a surprise, as I start to tiptoe, Kat turned her head towards my direction and with a wide grin she stood up and rushed to give me hug but before she reached me I received a tap on my back, I turned and saw it was Bea. With a shy smile she gave me a wave and said "Hi", I replied with a smile and a wave. By then the whole gang had surrounded me and gave me a hug. After a few minutes they let go with smiles on their faces
"I missed you dude"
Matt say with a toothy grin
"I am sure we all did"
Emma say
"But we would have to get used to it seeing as he is going to be very busy from now on"
Emma adds
"How are you sure about that ?"
Kat asks
"Have you not heard the rumors going round the school ?"
Bea asked looking at Kat
"What rumors ?"
I ask
"Well after the introduction, students have named the four of you elders of the school and that means you are going to be living in the staff quarters and to top it off now that you know what gift you truly possess you will be having more classes and not just regular ones"
Emma answer and I could not help but stare and process what she said and agree to it.
"I guess you are right"
I say and release a sigh
"Do not worry, that does not mean we would not see each other at all"
Matt say, patting my back trying to cheer me up
"Yeah, Matt is right"
Kat adds with teary eyes
"Oh dear, hush now, do not cry, mama is here"
Emma say going to hug Kat.
"Do not count me out"
Matt say, forgetting his duty of cheering me and goes to meet them
"Do not come near me you mutt"
Emma say
"Do not worry, I am here"
Bea say with a smile and Matt rush to hug her which earned a giggle from her. I really am going to miss them and so I hug them again and relish in the moment.
"Hate to cut the reunion short but Kevin you are going to be taking classes with Professor Sam, Theo will soon be here to pick you up"
Kristean informs me
"Who is Theo ?"
"Though he is a grade beta shifter, he is the captain of the second year shifters"
And then I hear the sound of a parrot, I look up and see a colorful bird flying above me and then it transforms into a young man who looked nothing over the age of 20, he is dressed in all black with a black and white polka dot fur coat.
"If you keep looking at me like that I will not hesitate to have you as lunch mate"
He say with a smirk in a monotone voice with an English accent, leaving me quite confused as to whether he meant it or was just joking. I would have dropped to my feet if I was a girl but then I feel myself being pulled by my hand and see that he had started pulling me towards another wing of the academy
"Hey, uhm if you did not notice, uhm, I can walk and I do not know if it is not so obvious but you are literally squeezing my wrist"
He then looked down at my hand and let go.
"Well you did not give me much of a choice"
"You are joking right, you could not have given me a tap or a snap in my face or at least have said my name ?"
I ask looking at his eyes and then he mumbled something that sounded like an apology, I smile and am about to say something but he cuts me off
"I said let us get going, classes are about to start, or would you have me squeeze your arm again?"
He ask, more like shouted. Wait, classes
"I thought I just had one class"
"Uhm, yeah you thought wrong, you see the thing is that you are going to be attending every class professor Sam takes, you will also be dining with him during and off school hours and this will last as long as he sees fit"
"You are joking right ?"
I asked in disbelief which earned me a 'do I look like someone that jokes' look from him but he just shrugs and continues walking and I follow him. After a few minutes, we walk into a very spacious room that has an illusion spell on it to make it look like a small jungle of a sort and then I notice animals who in their natural habitat would kill each other now lounging around with highly muscled men and then I feel a curious presence sneak up behind me but when I turn I see a huge serpent that will put the titanoboa to shame in every aspect, slither towards me and then stops mere inches away from me.
"Hello, if I did not know any better I would say you are planning on having me as lunch"
I say looking into his eyes
"Well do you ?"
I hear another voice behind me and I turn my head to my side to peek at him, he was built just like every other male specie here and still just like every other person he had a young look. I decide to play with him a bit and so I ask
"Do I know what ?"
"Do you know better ?"
Another voice say but this one is feminine so I turn around and see the only person who is not built like a monster in this place, he was leaning on a rock with a peacock feathered fan
"Well I know that our titanoboa shamer is very curious about me and so I ask, what do you wish to know ?"
I turn and ask the serpent. He looked shocked that I knew he was curious and so I answered his expression
"My gift gives me the power to see people's emotions and if I put in the right amount of concentration I can know their deepest desires"
I explain to the serpent
"And so I will ask again, what do you wish to know ?"
And then he transforms into a young looking man and asks
"Can you truly see into the future ?"
"Yes I can but I must tell you, destiny is defined but the future is not defined, it changes due to our action in the present and these actions lead to our destiny being fulfilled or not in the future"
I say and just like magic his curiosity turned into confusion
"I just wanted to know if professor Sam will ever give us a free whole week just to ourselves"
He say
"How about you ask if I would kill you before the end of this week"
Another voice say and I recognized it immediately and turned towards it.
"Professor Sam"
I say
"Kevin. Welcome, I hope they did not give you much of a bother ?"
He asks in his usual husky tone, scanning the room with his eyes flashing gold.
