Chapter 687 - Chapter 688: Villain Mayhem

"Whoa!".

Everyone present—including Ned and MJ—couldn't help but shout in shock. Both Andrew and Peter were wide-eyed, staring at Tobey in amazement, bombarding him with questions about how he did that.

Tobey looked completely innocent. Ever since that mutated spider bit him, shooting webs from his wrists had become as natural as breathing. It was simply instinct now.

Outside the screen, the audience was completely thrilled. Ever since watching the future clips of the three different Spider-Men, they'd been dying to know what kind of chemistry would happen when the three shared a screen.

Now, they finally got their answer.

That lighthearted moment of banter was a much-needed breather before the final showdown. As the scene shifted, the three masked vigilantes, clad in their red-and-black suits, swung through the night sky in perfect unison.

Soon, they reached their battlefield—the Statue of Liberty. It had seen many renovations over the years, but this time the change was drastic: Captain America's shield was now held high in Lady Liberty's hand, replacing the traditional torch.

Peter went live with a short selfie video. He publicly admitted that the tragedy in Queens had been entirely his fault.

At the same time, he addressed the villains directly:

"If any of you are watching this, I just want you to know—I truly wanted to help. I could've killed you. I had every chance. But I didn't.

Because Aunt May taught me that everyone deserves a second chance. That's why I'm here...

To everyone watching this around the world—wish me luck."

He held the Box up to the camera, then showed the modified Statue of Liberty behind him.

Everything was ready. While they waited, the three Spider-Men made small talk. They all felt the same strange warmth—like they'd suddenly gained two new brothers.

Andrew and Peter were still fascinated by Tobey's organic web-shooting. The conversation shifted naturally to their experiences fighting crime.

In this regard, Peter had the most to brag about. While Tobey and Andrew had only fought street-level threats on Earth, Peter had gone into space, battled intergalactic warlords, and taken part in multiple Avengers-level missions. He had real teamwork experience—something the others lacked.

Just as they were getting into it, the villains arrived.

Electro came first. Now powered by an arc reactor, he was a terrifying sight—crackling with lightning, floating midair like a god of thunder and chaos.

Peter acted quickly, tossing the Box into a portal that Ned opened. That was part of his plan: lure the villains in with the box, then hide it away safely once the fight began.

But there was a hiccup—Ned didn't really know how to close the portal. He could open one, sure, but shutting it was another matter. Things got awkward fast.

Meanwhile, Sandman and Lizard made their entrance. The battle officially began.

At first, the three Spider-Men were a mess. Instead of working together, they kept getting in each other's way. Tobey and Andrew, used to flying solo, had no experience in coordinated team fights and struggled to adapt in the chaos.

After a few mistakes, Peter took the opportunity to share some quick battlefield tips. That's when he realized something shocking—neither Tobey nor Andrew came from a world with the Avengers.

Still, there was no time to unpack that. Peter took charge, made a quick plan, and reminded them that their spider-sense would help them sync up mid-fight.

Though subtle, the spider-sense was crucial. Soon enough, their coordination improved dramatically.

Tobey was the first to land a win—he used special equipment to return Sandman to his human form. Andrew temporarily trapped Lizard, then teamed up with the others to take on Electro.

But Electro, powered by the arc reactor, was far more dangerous than before. The Spider-Men were quickly overwhelmed.

That's when Doc Ock suddenly burst onto the scene—grabbing two Spider-Men with his mechanical arms!

Wasn't he already cured?

The audience gasped, but just as quickly, they realized what was happening: Doc Ock turned on Electro, ripped the arc reactor off him, and drained his power using a special device—returning him to normal.

But Lizard escaped during the chaos and went after Ned and MJ, who were still guarding the Box.

The two ran through the scaffolding, playing a dangerous game of cat and mouse with the creature. Ned kept opening new portals, using surging water and obstacles to slow Lizard down.

Peter soon arrived and helped take Lizard down with the cure—transforming him back into Dr. Connors.

At that point, Ned decided to open a portal to get himself and MJ to safety—he didn't want to slow the others down.

But when the portal opened, out stepped a very irritated Stephen—face dark and fuming.

The moment he arrived, Stephen snatched the Box . He was about to cast a spell to send everyone back when Ned and MJ pleaded with him to wait. If he ended things now, everything the Spider-Men had worked for would be in vain.

Then he saw what Peter had accomplished. The villains were actually cured.

Stephen was stunned. "Well, I'll be damned…"

Outside the screen, the real Stephen shrugged. "No surprise—future me is probably pissed. Locked up by a high school kid, missed the whole show… but I guess showing up now to clean up the mess isn't the worst timing."

Pietro frowned. "Wait a second—Electro, Lizard, and Sandman are down… but what about Green Goblin? That guy's a whole different beast."

Stephen scoffed. "Please. Now that I'm free, that maniac is no big deal."

Famous last words.

Back in the video, Stephen looked around and saw the three Spider-Men standing together—and immediately realized just how much chaos had erupted during his twelve hours trapped in the Grand Canyon.

"Alright, Peter. What you said about giving them a second chance—that stuck with me. But I think it's time we wrapped this mess up."

Just then, an all-too-familiar, chilling laugh echoed from above.

Green Goblin's voice rang out:

"Spider-Men... ready to come play?"
