Chapter 814 - Chapter 813 – Pirated? Low-Budget Knockoff?

Deadpool, watching the video where the deep was mentioned, turned to ask, "You guys know Aquaman?"

Thor shrugged. "Sure. He's with Batman, Superman, that whole crew. Tough guy—I like him."

Deadpool whooped, "Wow, looks like you know more than I do, you big dummy."

"Shut it, you jackass."

On the screen, while the two kids in the video kept bickering, chaos erupted in the background.

An armored cash truck had been hijacked and was now being chased by the police. As luck—or misfortune—would have it, the truck was barreling straight toward the two kids.

The children, realizing the danger, screamed in panic. But they were still too young, frozen in place, unable to react.

Just as it seemed tragedy was inevitable and the truck was about to slam into them—

A stunning woman dropped from the sky, landing directly in the truck's path!

In the next instant, the truck rammed straight into her. By all rights, she should've been sent flying or crushed entirely. But what happened next was nothing short of unbelievable.

She didn't budge an inch. The speeding truck came to a screeching halt as if it had hit a wall. The woman's figure was even embedded into the truck's front!

"Queen Maeve! That's Queen Maeve! She's my idol!" Annie shouted, face flushed with excitement. "Look, she saved those kids—she's a real hero!"

"Whoa, cool!" Deadpool clapped exaggeratedly, then glanced around. "Hey, any lawyers here? I'd like to report copyright infringement! This Maeve chick is totally ripping off Wonder Woman!"

"Diana?" Thor squinted at the screen. "You know what... she does kinda look like her."

While they talked, Queen Maeve had already subdued the robbers in the truck and stepped out completely unharmed.

But there were still two more robbers in the cab, both wielding automatic rifles. As they got out, they grabbed the two kids as hostages, holding them up in front of them like shields.

Maeve was unarmed, but she smiled and calmly walked toward them without a trace of fear.

The ones panicking were the gunmen. They shouted nervously, "What are you smiling at?! Shut up!"

Just then, two beams of red light shot through the air, striking the robbers' submachine guns. The high-energy lasers not only melted the weapons—they melted the robbers' hands along with them…

A man draped in the American flag descended from the sky, his glowing eyes still smoldering. He had fired the lasers.

The other robber panicked and opened fire in a frenzy, bullets clattering uselessly against the man's body.

He walked through the hail of bullets like it was nothing, grabbed the robber by the collar, and effortlessly flung him into the air. The man screamed as he soared, then hit the ground moments later—a lifeless heap.

"Homelander, you're here."

Queen Maeve smiled at the man draped in the flag. Homelander smiled back just as brightly.

Outside the video, Deadpool howled louder, slapping his thigh. "Lawyer! LAWYER! First Wonder Woman, now Superman? C'mon! And what kinda name is Homelander? That's not cool at all—but damn, I gotta admit, that cape is sick."

Thor scratched his head. "Laser eyes, bulletproof body, super strength… yeah, he's definitely got that Clark Kent vibe. Only, the Clark I know would've just restrained the robber—not yeeted him to his death."

Annie laughed. "Homelander and Maeve often show up together. Everyone thinks they're destined to be a couple."

She turned to Billy Butcher, noticing his face was dark and grim. Frowning, she asked, "Did you see that? They're heroes. They saved those kids!"

"Shut up idiot. Keep watching." Billy growled, eyes locked on Homelander, seething with rage.

Deadpool shrugged and added, "Don't tell me Vought was founded by a bootleg Batman. Is this like some knockoff Justice League LLC?"

Back on the screen, footage of Maeve and Homelander's heroic deed was already making headlines.

Unlike the aloof demeanor of typical superheroes, these two didn't just vanish after saving the day like Spider-Man, Batman, or Superman. They faced the cameras with grace, more like celebrities than caped crusaders.

Audiences from the Marvel, DC, Spider-Man, and X-Men universes all perked up—maybe superhero celebrity culture really was the next big thing?

The scene shifted to a young man working in a tech shop.

It was Hughie Campbell.

As he saw himself appear on the screen, Hughie's eyes widened in shock.

Even though he had mentally prepared, the moment still hit hard. "That's me. That really happened just a few days ago! It's like there was a hidden camera following me around. This is unreal!"

"Relax, buddy," said Thor. "You'll get used to it. That's the magic of this Quiz game—doesn't matter if it's past or future, it'll put you right on display."

In the video, Hughie looked like an average, slightly awkward young man. He didn't stand out at all. He couldn't even bring himself to ask his boss for a raise.

Soon, his girlfriend Robin showed up. She was a regular Black girl—nothing flashy, just sweet and down-to-earth. They exchanged some playful couple banter, though Robin clearly wasn't thrilled that Hughie hadn't worked up the courage to ask for that raise.

She wanted him to save up so they could move out of their parents' places and start a life of their own.

Outside the screen, Hughie's expression turned distant. Watching his past self interact with Robin like an outsider—it was a strange experience. It brought back that simple, sweet time in his life.

But then—

As the video showed him and Robin holding hands and kissing, Hughie suddenly lunged toward the light piller, yelling in desperation, "No! Please, grab her! Somebody grab her!"

But he couldn't escape the pillar. He couldn't interfere. And the tragedy had already happened...

In the video, the moment that would haunt Hughie forever played out.

Right after their kiss, in the middle of a sentence, Robin vanished into thin air.

The footage went into slow motion. A gust of wind tossed Hughie's hair, blood splattered across his face, and in midair—

A cloud of blood and gore hovered, filled with shattered bones and mangled body parts…

When the slow-mo ended, the blood crashed to the ground.

All that was left of Robin… were her hands. Everything else had been obliterated.
