Shiro's magic pistol released a silent trail of smoke as she lowered her arm back to her side. She looked over at him yet remained silent, scratching her ear and turning her face away sheepishly.
Rune barely spared her a glance before he grunted and pulled himself to his feet. "I didn't need your help," he said, coldly.
Leaving just those few words between then, he began picking up all the wood that had been scattered.
"Alright..."
Shiro didn't argue, nor did she reprimand Rune for his harsh treatment after she had just saved him. She just silently watched his retreating back with a sad expression. As he disappeared amongst the tree, Shiro looked down at the corpse of the Steel Wolf.
