Just as Ruby Mercer turned back to the kitchen, she caught sight of Christopher Moore leaning against the study door with a mischievous grin.
Ruby walked toward him, taking his hand as they headed to the kitchen.
"What are you laughing at?"
Christopher rubbed his chin, "Laughing at how he's only worth two hundred bucks!"
Ruby shot him a glance, "Don't make fun of others! You might not even be as good as he is!"
Christopher pulled her around the waist, "Oh really?"
"Not satisfied with my performance in certain areas?"
Ruby glared at him fiercely and swatted his big hand away.
"If it were you and me, even if you paid me, I wouldn't take you!"
Christopher's lips curled dangerously, "Is that so?"
Seeing the warning on his face, Ruby immediately pleaded for mercy.
"I was just joking!"
"Dear brother, I'm hungry!"
"How about we cook together?"
Christopher raised an eyebrow, "What did you call me just now?"
Ruby blushed, "Nothing!"
