Every day, besides eating and sleeping, Ruby Mercer stayed in her room where cameras were installed. If Christopher Moore found out that she secretly got up, she would receive due punishment.
As for the punishment, it was nothing more than kisses and hugs, so Ruby Mercer behaved herself well and hadn't even taken a step out of the door, naturally unaware that Adam Mercer was going to have surgery.
"Is anyone there?" Ruby Mercer peeked out into the corridor of the ward, only to see a few bodyguards stationed outside her room.
"Madam, is there anything you need?" one of the bodyguards wearing sunglasses stepped forward to inquire.
"N-no, it's just... hasn't Christopher come to deliver my meal today? I'm hungry."
Ruby Mercer had figured out Christopher Moore's schedule for the week; usually, by twelve noon, he would have already brought her meal. However, he hadn't shown up by this time.
