Third person POV
"Carkol was unable to battle," the battle referee announced. "Staravia wins."
Rico was stunned at this but rejoiced mildly. "Awesome! Way to go, Staravia!"
Staravia then responded with mild, good pride.
In the audience seating, Jonathan commented, "Wow, Staravia learned Aerial Ace." His Greninja then nodded in response.
"Oh…" Marshall replied back.
And then, the third round came, and Dante switched out and brought out his Lycanroc in its Midnight Form. That Lyranroc was serious and ready for the fight. Rico was astonished to see that and pulled out his Pokédex and pointed it at Lycanroc; his Pokédex then responded, "The more intimidating the opponent it faces, the more this Pokémon's blood boils. It will attack with no regard for its own safety."
"Oh, wow…" Rico commented in awe, before, again, putting his Pokédex away in his pocket and focusing back on the third round of the battle.
And so, the third and last round of the battle was now on. "Let's see if you can survive this…" Dante said to Rico and Staravia.
"Well, we'll do our best," Rico responded back with strong and confident vigour.
"Lycanroc, use Sand Attack!" Dante commanded Lycanroc seriously.
Lycanroc then used Sand Attack, hurling sand into Staravia's face, to reduce its accuracy.
"Dodge it and use Aerial Ace!" Rico commanded Staravia quickly and confidently.
Staravia did so and used Aerial Ace, confounding Lycanroc with speed, then struck it.
Lycanroc was struck hard, and it almost fell to the ground.
"Woah! That was quite strong there, rockie," Dante commented to this while not trying to give up.
Then to Lycanroc. "Quickly, use Rock Blast!"
Lycanroc then managed to stand up and use Rock Blast, hurling hard rocks at Staravia.
But Staravia dodged its attacks fast, and Rico commanded, "Then use Gust!"
Staravia then used Gust, whipping up a gust of wind with its wings and launching it at Lycanroc to inflict damage.
Lycanroc then tried to withstand it, but then, Rico said to Staravia next, "Then use Aerial Ace again!"
Staravia then used Aerial Ace for the third time, confounding Lycanroc with speed, then strikes it.
In the end, Staravia defeated Lycanroc, and Rico won the battle, as it was announced by the battle referee. Rico was happy, while Jonathan and the others were astonished and happy for his victory. As a result, Dante accepted his defeat, called Lycanroc back, and gave Rico the Bato Badge as a reward. Rico was happy and placed it into his gym badge case. Jonathan and the others went to him and complimented his efforts of winning this gym battle.
Later after that, it was still morning, so Rico and his group, with Dante as their guide, went to a restaurant in the city. That restaurant is the one where Dante was a regular. But as they are now nearing to their destination, Shion finally caught up with them. "Rico…you better not run away…"
Rico and his group heard that and looked at her.
Shion was panting heavily while looking serious.
It seemed that she had ran a lot just to catch up with her unlikely rival.
