A bit later after that, Bastian gave a tour of his hometown to Rico and his group, with Jonathan going ahead of his younger brother and friends since he had been here before. The town of Aklat-An was a small town known for its fondness for books, and in fact, its library had a Pokémon gym attached to its back, meaning that Trainers had to go through the library to get to the gym. Bastian was now its gym leader because his older brother retired from that position recently to have more opportunities in life.
Upon entering the library, Rico and his group marvelled at how many books and bookshelves it had in its arsenal. Many books on different subjects were lined up in order and had library cards in every book of them. Bastian explained that he was an avid lover of books and loves reading them in his free time. He was a book-smart person as a result of his habit. Hearing that, Rico and Marshall shared their favourite books to Bastian, who was quite impressed in their individual selections and preferences.
