Chapter 126 - The wolf with many heads 2

Lappland pov

Another me: " But well, it doesn't really matter , right ? We're going to kill them anyway. We can find out the truth from their bodies. "

Said another me , with a wild and malicious smile, looking at our reflection from over my shoulder. Her chin rested on my shoulder and her hands grabbed my upper arms. Despite her intimacy , I didn't push her away . Instead I leaned over the reflection and I fixed my bangs, which I could see were messy .

Lappland: " Shopping will have to wait. First, I'll have to deal with this problem. I just hope it won't take too long. "

I said with sincere hope and with a certain anticipation . The fact that I was preparing to take a life was less important to me than shopping. But that's just my mentality.

Another me : " But what can we do? Run away , and let them follow us everywhere to collect information about us. Perhaps bring them to Blake if they don't know where she is yet. Wouldn't it be better to pass on the message to whoever sent them? As for the rest, we'll worry about it once we know the details. "

She said with a strange animalistic growl that matched what she had become. One blink was enough for the familiar face on my shoulder to be replaced by a huge wolf head. Black, surrounded by a black and red mist, with red eyes that had nothing in them but a cruel desire and anticipation associated with impending violence and bloodshed .

The only other color on that wolf head , was the white of her teeth , which stood out from among the black and red, showing her wild and crazy grin on that wolf's muzzle of her's . If such an expression can be shown on a wolf's face at all. However, I did not dwell on this, nor did I respond, giving her a silent confirmation . I also think that killing them is the only way out of this situation. Every whisper in my head agreed with this. Even the voice of reason did not object.

But before I set off, I looked at the reflection, precisely at what the reflection was reflecting behind me. The wolf head next to me was not the only one. Another wolf head hung over my other shoulder. It looked the same, but instead of anticipation or madness, only anger was visible in its red eyes. The wolf's mouth with clenched fangs from which flowed saliva red as blood , was filled with nothing but anger and fury. Her whispers murmured only of cruelty.

Another head hung over my head, red tears streaming from its eyes, its jaws closed, nothing else inside it but regret and sadness. Despite this, the head remained silent, long since dumbed down. Beyond them, in the reflection of the mist, I could see more and more of them, there were hundreds, maybe thousands of them.

Each one different in some way . All of them, except for the three hanging above me flew freely, becoming nothing more than flying wolf heads. Yet they all seemed to be connected somehow to a single body that arose from my stretched shadow. Only the three heads hanging over me were connected to it directly. And the body belonged to a two-tailed wolf. Its massive silhouette blocked the entire view behind me. Its paws merged with my shadow.

Among those hundreds of heads , only those three hanging over me were watching me. One face, three snouts, four pairs of eyes visible in the reflection stared at me . At my smile, at my bloodshot eyes and anticipation. Without saying anything, I left the display window and set off to find a good place for what was to come. And behind me followed my madness in physical form .

However, even it eventually disappeared, leaving me only with the mental certainty that it was still there. I heard whispers and growls. I felt anger, sadness, excitement. I didn't see it. But I could feel it. Their gaze and the stench of blood emanating from their bodies and mouths. I just licked my lips as a smile spread across my face. I'm sick. I'm disgusting. I need help. I love IT . I love myself.

' Now that I think about it, I have to text Blake and tell her to be careful. '

Suddenly, when that thought popped into my head I snapped out of my increasingly distant thoughts . I did it immediately . However, I added some additional information to the warning itself, telling her not to worry and that I would take care of it. . But knowing Blake, she'll worry anyway. Well, I just hope I don't get in the way of her work.

' As for the question of whether am I worried about her safety, though ?'

I did not worry. Blake isn't helpless, if they don't knock her down immediately, Blake will resist. She's currently sitting in a bookstore on a fairly busy street . It will only take the police a moment to get there. There is too great a risk that the situation will become too heated. And Adam isn't stupid enough to attack her there . Well, at least I hope so.

' After all Adam is an idiot . '

I thought, thinking about what he had done so far. Well, as long as he's not desperate, he won't be that stupid. Apart from pissing me off, he has no reason to attack Blake. We both know that if he really killed her, I would lose all restraint, and then he would be fighting me when I had nothing else to fight for but the chance to take revenge on him. And he already knows that I have the means and knowledge to destroy him.

As for capturing her as a hostage to use as leverage against me? Possible, but it won't work on me. He knows that I won't give up even if he has a hostage. After all, if I let him kill or capture me, what then? If I let him kill me, then he wouldn't need Blake and would simply kill her or imprison her for who knows what purpose. If he captured me, Blake could also be killed or held captive to force me into submission. In both the first and second options, Blake's fate would be the same.

' In this situation, not giving up is the best option. And as for the possibility of Blake being injured or killed? Well, I'll either join her or avenge her right after I tear Adam apart . '

I thought, knowing how it works. After all, I did it myself. Giving up when you have the opportunity to fight is always the worst option.

Well, at least in my opinion.

' That's a stupid opinion. '

A voice whispered in my head.

Lappland : "Then what? Give up and let this megalomaniac control our lives?"

I said to myself, ignoring the tail following me.

The voice didn't speak again. That's because I'm right. Apart from all this crystallization crap, I'm in good fighting shape. I took care of the whole two team of hunters. What can Adam throw at me to beat two teams of hunters? He knows very well that most of the technology won't work because I'll just turn it off. Same with people. Last time his strategy worked because of my injuries, fatigue, and that shit Blake gave me.

But what if it wasn't Adam who is following me but someone else? Well, apart from Adam, no one knows how valuable Blake is to me, so no one would pay any attention to her .After all, in the eyes of the world, a white wolf is a psychopath incapable of feelings and who has no allies.

' So, in the eyes of these people, Blake shouldn't matter to me. Unless they were following and watching us at the hotel or earlier, but then that would mean that I didn't notice them . '

I thought , but despite this, my paranoia wouldn't let me stop worrying. However, rationality held strong enough today to keep me from drifting away. But, focusing back on the road. Thanks to the silence of the empty streets, I could hear distant sounds following me, and with them I could smell they smell carried by the wind right under my nose. It made me sure that I was being watched.

'In a way, they even got louder.

I thought, hearing distant footsteps and the hum of a car engine. It was as if they weren't even trying to hide anymore. Which was most likely true, as I myself had stopped being subtle in pretending that I knew nothing.

After walking around for ten minutes and not finding the perfect spot, I didn't want to waste any more time, so I went down to the first place I found. It turned out to be an underground parking lot. I didn't see anyone at the guard booth at the entrance. There was a sign on the window saying that someone would be back shortly.

It looked real, just a lucky coincidence of "the guard being on break when something happens." However, I didn't miss the smell of blood lingering inside. Upon closer inspection, there were several dried drops of blood on the ground.

' So I stumbled upon their chosen spot, '

I thought, looking at one of the cameras. At first glance, it looked like it was working, but appearances were deceiving again. Several cut cables were sticking out of the housing and the lens was covered.

' This place was prepared for me. It's a trap. '

I thought about it, and my interest grew. Was I unknowingly led here, or did he really predict that I would come here?

' Or maybe someone prepared a few likely places.'

I thought about it, finding it funny and, in a way, cute.

' Well, someone put a lot of effort into this. Let's not disappoint them. '

I thought, looking around once more. Then, despite knowing it was a trap, I moved on. The barrier at the bottom was down, but I simply bypassed it. The interior was well lit except for one corner. There weren't many cars underground, so there was a lot of open space. However, many pillars supporting the ceiling blocked much of the view and provided many places where someone could hide.

But I didn't smell anyone. Besides the only way out was the door at the end of the parking lot , which I don't know where they led and the road for cars behind me . I didn't go to check the door. Instead, I looked around for traps. I found nothing. I didn't smell any explosives or gases. I didn't hear anything strange except for the hum of the lights above my head. My instincts were silent too.

So I leaned against one of the pillars and looked at the exit to the parking lot, waiting. And I didn't wait long. After just a moment, three figures came down the same way I had come . Three men in loose coats with hoods, under which I could see proof of their identity, which they had no intention of hiding.

.... : "White Wolf"

Said the tallest man in his deep, calm voice, leading two people behind him . Above his speaking lips, I saw a glimpse of a familiar white mask, the upper part of which was partially covered by a hood. I was already familiar with this project. A white mask covering the eyes.

' White fang '
