Chapter 75 - Chapter 70

Kara stared at the 10-meter-tall red and black mecha destroying the private airport that acted as Intergang's base and tsked. It was about time something went wrong.

Quickly, she ordered her Fog replica nanomachines to stop consuming Apokolips tech, enter isolation, and drain their batteries; it wouldn't do for the new god information she just acquired to somehow infect the rest of her equipment with viruses.

Then she sighed. By Rao, where did they even get a mecha from anyway? There were no signs of anything like that while she was looking over the place.

Studying the robot, a hint of recognition jogged her memory. Right, this was Infinity Man, wasn't it? The powerful entity that some New Gods could turn into to fight against Apokolips.

Considering she hadn't even known it was a thing before watching Young Justice, and that it only appeared for a short time in an unimportant episode she only half paid attention to, it was no wonder she'd forgotten about the thing.

Dodging a blast of fire from his hand, Starfire punched the Robot in the head, but it barely felt the impact.

Red Tornado attacked, sending a blade of razor-sharp wind that cut a meter deep trench on the asphalt, but broke against Infinity Man's chest, only making it take a single step back.

Turning his head, Infinity Man released a blast of red light from his eyes, forcing Starfire to dodge and disintegrating everything in its way, then he waved a hand, some kind of telekinetic grip throwing an entire Airplane at Red Tornado.

Alright, maybe she should start taking things more seriously, but despite the advanced weapons, Intergang had been formed by normal humans, and even the New Gods helping them weren't that powerful.

They weren't exactly weak, being far above the usual street-level metahuman that was common on the planet, but she was sure that in a fight, either she, Kori, or Red Tornado could have taken them all at once.

Superboy took the chance to smash into the back of the giant's leg with everything he had, causing the mecha to crack the pavement as it fell to one knee, but it took no real damage and responded with a backhand, sending her little cousin bouncing several times off the ground.

Yeah, she definitely had to take this seriously, and to think their cooperation had started so well.

In a flash of light, Kara's teleportation platform appeared somewhere over the Nevada desert, a location several miles away from any civilian just in case something went wrong.

Immediately, about two hundred small drones launched from the platform, flying up in the air, Kara's surveillance system creating an area of safety for the meeting.

Rolling out of the Platform, Sphere fell into the desert floor, a small cloud of dust rising around it as its red 'eye' flashed as it looked around.

With Kara and Red Tornado present, not all of the Titans were interested, or needed, for what should be a diplomatic mission, so most of them chose to remain in the mountain training.

Despite the changes she had made, Kon had still grown attached to Sphere, and Kori, being Kori, quickly made friends, so both of them had chosen to accompany the sentient machine, but the others had preferred to stay inside the mountain for training.

Well, Zatanna had wanted to come too, eager to get out and do something, but her placement in the Titans was still a little shaky. In the end, she chose not to risk it, staying out of any missions for a month or two so her father wouldn't change his mind.

Red Tornado dropped to the ground a second later, then the three of them floated out, letting the platform disappear again.

"In case of a confrontation, I will be the main fighter," Red Tornado said. "I've far more experience than any of you; assist me as best you can and delay any enemies. Reinforcements from the Watchtower should arrive shortly after."

"Should't we take point?" Kon asked, motioning towards her with his head. "We're far more resistant than you."

"No, from the information we gained from Green Lantern, New Gods have several weapons capable of overcoming or negating a Kryptonian's resistance, and my consciousness can survive the near total destruction of this body; any damage I receive can be easily repaired."

"Fair enough," Kara nodded.

"Understood, Friend Red Tornado."

Unlike the test of the Titans, none of them really had a desire to prove themselves. Kon may have started with one, but Kara and the Kents had managed to fix that in short order.

"How long until they get here?" Kon asked.

"I'd say probably about… now," Kara said, waiting a second for the boom tube to open. Nothing happened. "Alright, maybe they're not as reckless as I thought, but they should have sensed Sphere the second she was out of my protection field, and they can teleport just as easily as my platforms."

"Friend Sphere suddenly appeared amidst an arid expanse," Kori said. "It has also been an hour since her would-be liberators started scanning for her, ample time for an ambush. They are wise to expect one, yes?"

"Can you send them a message?" Kon asked, laying a hand against Sphere's surface. "Let them know there's no trouble."

Sphere's eye flashed again. Kara tried to use the equipment she had on hand to trace the communication, but she couldn't detect anything; the New God tech was using something she wasn't aware of.

"I believe that's a yes," Red Tornado said, eyes looking around the expanse of the desert.

Using the controls on her mask, Kara had some of her modular drones fly down, over a dozen of them quickly turning into elegant floating chairs for everyone present.

Leaning back on her chair, Kara crossed her legs and waited, making sure to keep an eye on the readings from her monitoring devices.

With an explosion of sound, a boom tube opened in the air sixty feet from them, space fracturing with no warning, then folding into the shape of a tunnel, concentric rings of dimensional power seeming to flow along its length with a constant motion..

Kara accelerated her thoughts, reading every piece of information her drones could catch, but she wasn't getting much from the teleportation method; the technology involved either too advanced or too alien for her to get much.

A silver flying car drove through the opening, the space tunnel quickly closing behind it, it circled once, then parked in the air only a few feet away from them, the occupants jumping out.

There were five of them and, with the exception of the eyes, all looked almost completely human, although one was a little too tall and muscled, his large frame making it impossible for anyone to mistake him for someone normal, more like a metahuman with enhanced strength.

The leader had dark skin, was wearing black clothes, with technological plate armor, and a helmet that left his entire face visible.

Beside him was a beautiful young woman wearing pink, a short boy dressed like an old-school cowboy, a lean, black-haired man wearing a dark blue bodysuit with purple lines, and the giant, with brown skin and red hair.

"Greetings," the leader said, approaching them with sure steps. "The New Genesphere has informed us of your rescue. The Forever people thank you for your efforts."

"Indeed," said the larger man, with a booming voice and a smile on his face. "We embrace you as a friend, ally and worthy warrior!"

"That is most wonderful!" Kori answered with equal cheer, the excitement making her lose a little composure and float closer, but she managed to stop herself from hugging them. "Welcome, new friend, it is marvelous to meet you!"

"In the name of New Genesis, we thank you for the rescue of New Genesphere," the woman said with a smile, then pointed to the black-haired boy, the young cowboy, and their leader, respectively. "I'm called Dreamer, and those are Moonrider, Serifan, and our leader, Vykin."

"Hmmm, I'm named for an animal that does not exist in this world," said the large redhead. "But you may call me… Wolf."

"Red Tornado," the hero said, stepping forward. "And while it is good to reunite the New Genesphere with her people, I must ask, what are your intentions now? I was informed that New Genesis doesn't usually interfere with planets like ours."

"Correct, our presence on a planet tends to draw unwanted attention," Dreamer said, nodding. "However, there is nothing preventing us from visiting for a time, and we have no intention of causing any trouble."

"This is Motherbox," Vykin said, lifting a small black box only a little bigger than a cellphone. "With her help, we have tracked some technology stolen from New Genesis to your planet. We wish to recover it; after that, we shall leave without causing any trouble."

Kara's eyes were immediately drawn to the small device, probably the most advanced piece of technology currently on the planet, the Fortress of Solitude included.

Pity it was also sentient, Kara had nothing against living AIs, at least not the reasonable ones, but it did make both using and studying them a challenge.

"You may not be aware, but this country has laws about its sovereign territory," she said. "Currently, you're here illegally," technically, so was she, but that's beside the point. "And, while we're not going to pursue this, we'd appreciate it if you let us accompany you."

Red Tornado gave her a look, but he didn't contradict her.

The New Gods traded glances, then Vykin nodded. "We understand, it is your planet, as long as our technology is recovered, we are content to let you take the lead."

"Acceptable," Red Tornado said. "Are you able to transmit the location of your technology to me?"

Motherbox 'beepep', a series of noises that Kara couldn't recognize, but some of her more exotic sensors let her know far more than just noise was being made.

"Motherbox will be able to create a boom tube to a location nearby," Vykin said, and there was another explosion of sound as space collapsed into a large portal. "Lead the way."

As soon as he was done, five of Kara's drones dived into the portal, the new information quickly appearing in her mask's visor, then she nodded at the senior hero to indicate it was safe. "It's still in the US, a location only a few miles from Metropolis. I can also see a private airport not too far from the portal."

"That should be our target," Red Tornado said, walking through the boom tube.

They all followed, appearing about nine thousand feet in the air, a layer of clouds hiding their location, Red Tornado was floating with a small tornado over his legs, the generated wind controlled enough to not affect more than a foot or two around him.

Three miles away, Kara could see some action on the private airport, piles of gold bars being separated, then loaded into smaller boxes for storage or transportation, the sign of the federal reserve stamped on them.

"That is where Motherbox sensed the rescue drill," Vykin said, waiting for them to take the lead.

"That a lot of gold, at least a few thousand bars," Kon said, floating by her side. "Far too much to really belong in a private airport, and those guys don't look like government workers."

Red Tornado seemed to consider his options, but the five New Gods just seemed confused, so he explained. "We use gold as a currency on this planet, an extremely valuable one."

Kara turned towards Metropolis and accelerated her thoughts, looking over the city to see if she could find anything

The new gods nodded from their flying car, then Serifan grew excited. "It's a heist! They're using the rescue drill to steal money, come on, partners, let's ride in and round up them outlaws!"

"He's… watched a lot of Earth's westerns," Dreamed explained, almost sorry.

"No," Red Tornado said, his eyes never leaving the airport. "They're still in the beginning stages of transportation; we've more than enough time to study our enemies.'

"It's from the Metropolis Federal Reserve," Kara said, having finally seen the large tunnel on the empty plot beside the Reserve building. "I think they also have some jamming technology; there's been no alarm."

"Motherbor has detected another cache of technology," Vykin said, his voice far more serious. "Apokoliptian in origin."

Turning invisible, hundreds of Kara's drones descended on the location, keeping some distance and being extremely careful so as to avoid detection.

"I recognize them," Kori said, watching the feed on the holographic display of a drone. "The woman is Whisper A'Deire; the information imparted to the Titans by the Justice League implies she is part of Intergang."

Taking a closer look, Kara noticed several goons wearing some manner of technological harnesses; some covered their whole chest, others were more like weapons, covering their hands like gauntlets.

"Can your drones disable them stealthily?" Red Tornado asked.

"Depends on how much New God technology they're using, I don't see any metahuman or aliens, so it's possible, but they could have shields or ways of detecting the drones."

"Do it. In case your equipment is detected, I will raise a cloud of dust and descend, providing battlefield control while acting as a target. You and Superboy will use the distraction to rush in before they can react. The others may engage as needed."

Kara nodded, as normal humans, even with Apokolips tech, Intergang shouldn't be able to react to two kryptonians, much less with their vision blocked.

Giving the location one last scan, Kara ordered her drones, personally targeting Whisper, then released some of her Fog replica nanomachines, ordering them to consume the Apokoliptian weapons.

She wasn't sure it would work, the materials may be too alien for the nanomachines to consume, but there should be no danger in trying, and the New Gods were only after New Genesis technology, Apokoliptian tech was fair game.

"Huh, that was unexpected," Kara said five minutes later as she watched every Intergang member drop unconscious at the same time, each one covered by five invisible drones.

"Apokolips' culture is extremely aggressive," Dreamer said as their car started driving down. "Weapons are both more numerous and accessible than any defense or surveillance equipment."

On the airplane, some of her Fog descended on the weapons, the nanomachines quickly eating through the material and stealing every information inside it, from their blueprint to the programming used on their software… Great!

Kon gave her an odd look as she discreetly pumped a fist, but she just ignored him and landed.

"How difficult is it to awaken them?" Red Tornado asked.

"My drones just caused them to pass out," Kara said even as her drones moved over the thugs, physically restraining them. "They'll recover in a minute or three even if we don't do anything."

All over the base, Kara's Fog continued to spread, eating through any Apokoliptian tech it could get to while ignoring everything else. She made sure to keep an eye on the Nanomachines, making sure nothing went wrong, but she couldn't help the smile forming on her face.

"This will be no excuse to remain in your laboratory," Kori said, glaring suspiciously at her.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Kara said, looking away from her girlfriend.

"Humph, I saw the armament dissolving on the man's waist," Kori pouted, green eyes growing huge as she used guilt.

"Alright, alright, I swear I'm not locking myself away to study the data, I'll only do it in my free time."

"Superboy, Starfire, Supergirl, please secure the rest of the airport," Red Tornado said. "I will be informing the League and informing the authorities as soon as it's been fully secured."

"Well executed," Vykin said, jumping from his flying car. "We appreciate the effort in retrieving the rescue drill."

"Yes, very well done," Wolf laughed, patting Kara on the back with one extremely large hand.

"Ah, reckon I'd be getting myself a proper fight, but looks like those varmints didn't have the grit for it. Shame, that is," Serifan said, holstering both pistols.

Kon gave Wolf an odd look. "I didn't think you'd enjoy something like this."

"I am usually more direct, yes," the big redhead nodded. "But I can appreciate skill when I see it, friend."

Approaching Whisper D'Aire, Red Tornado used his control over wind to both wake and lift her to her feet, the disoriented woman trying to go for no longer existing weapons at her side.

Stopping by the robot's side, Dreamer smiled. "May I assist with the interrogation?"

"The offer is appreciated, but as there's no urgent demand, and she is already restrained, Law enforcement has proper procedures."

"I do not mean to hurt her," Dreamer explained. "My powers are connected to her mind. I could extract her memories with no pain or discomfort if you need."

"The League is no stranger to telepathy; however, as I said, with no immediate danger or necessity, she has rights that protect even her thoughts. If the necessity arises, there are those who can be called upon by a judge."

"That is admirable," Moonrider said. "Societies that prefer to avoid causing pain are common, but not many think about the sanctity of the mind."

A warning from one of her drones caused Kara to turn away from the conversation, and she started to look over the base, entering one of the buildings and using everything in her repertoire to see if there were hidden traps or caches of Apokoliptian weapons.

Especially the caches, not only could they be extremely dangerous if left unattended, but she was eager to see if there were other examples for her Fog to consume.

Kara was feeling satisfied. This was probably the beginning of an Apokolips plot, but since she didn't remember anything else about it from the parts of the show she had watched, it was probably something that developed slowly in the background over the years.

Hopefully, knowing about Intergang involvement and preventing them from gaining any more traction would stop this particular plot before it could bear any fruit, and maybe even reveal a thread someone like Batman could pull.

She'd also ask Detective Chimp to take a look at things, but Kara was realistic enough to recognize she wasn't the best at investigative work, so it was better to leave it to others.

The first scream caught her by surprise, then the explosions started, and the giant mecha. She watched her companions engaging, then Kon getting backhanded, his body bouncing off the ground several times before hitting a building.

Kara wanted to fly out as fast as she could; instead, she used her costume to turn invisible and watched, accelerating her thoughts and taking in the situation around her.

All over the base, new intergang thugs started appearing, red harnesses over their chests that shot out several scarlet discs, each one with a different effect, having been waiting in ambush in a way she hadn't noticed.

Damn, they did have a cloaking device, and one good enough that neither her tech nor her senses couldn't get through… she HAD to study her newly acquired devices!

Kori dodged another of Infinity Man's blasts, then released a wave of starbolts at the flying disks, destroying them by the dozens, but their numbers continued to grow with time.

Sphere jumped at Infinity Man, her round, silver body shifting in the air and becoming red, but the robot reacted in time, his hand glowing red as it telekinetically threw a few tons of gold at her.

"Sphere!" Kon screamed, pushing himself up and rushing at the damaged device.

Red Tornado used wind to cut the thrown airplane into at least a hundred pieces, then sent them three at a time towards the shooters, forcing them to stop and take cover.

Then he extended his arm, a huge tornado bringing a deluge of dust to fill the air. With her improved vision, it didn't bother her, but the normal humans could barely see five feet in front of them.

Finally, a second tornado fell on top of Infinity Man, but the mecha just ignored the razor-sharp winds.

With a command, Kara's surveillance drones started firing, non-lethal shots providing covering fire and making the remaining thugs struggle even more. On her mask's screen, Red Tornado informed her League's reinforcements were only three minutes away.

With a wave of his arm, Infinity Man somehow countered Red Tornado's dust cloud, every particle falling down on the floor as if unaffected by air.

Momentarily distracted, a red disk attached itself to Red Tornado's back, ground and asphalt rising to form a shell around him, covering his entire body and continuing to squeeze in an attempt to crush him, not immediately, but slowly, as if to cause the most pain.

Kon recovered, rushing towards the hero and piercing an arm through the material to grab the disk, crushing it in his fist before ripping large pieces of the shell to free the hero.

More disks tried to interfere, but there were fewer now that the thugs were suppressed, and Kara's drones could easily intercept every one.

Infinity Man moved with surprising speed, lifting an arm high in the air and preparing to smash them with a hammer fist.

Kara almost acted, but Kori interfered, hitting the air sideways as it descended, diverting it enough that the fist struck the ground seven feet from them in an explosion of sound and asphalt that shook the entire airport.

There, leaning back against one of the buildings, were two men who weren't participating. One was large, with bulging muscles, and another Apokoliptian harness over his chest; the other wore a cloak that Kara couldn't see through and had a deformed face.

Accelerating her thoughts to the max, Kara had at least twenty drones target the cloaked figure, half with lasers and half with solid projectiles. Unfortunately, she wasn't in her Forge persona, so she didn't have a teleport gun, but she also ordered another three drones to approach, ready to self-destruct by cracking space around themselves.

She also prepared herself to attack personally, her Kryptonian strength superior to any device she had brought with her.

The cloaked man crossed his arms and laughed, a low, terrible thing, filled with cruelty as he took pleasure at the sight of her group struggling, and Kara swore there was something else; he drew not only pleasure but power from the entire act.

Her drones fired, ten shafts of light stopping less than a foot from the man, a red, translucent shield appearing around him. Only a fraction of a second later, ten bullets hit the barrier with enough strength to bruise a Kryptonian, but the barrier didn't even ripple.

The man seemed to react almost like a normal human, his face not even showing surprise as he didn't seem to even realize he was under attack.

Another quarter of a second later, Kara detonated the two drones closest to her target, space seeming to crack around the devices, the very air looking like the surface of a broken mirror, then it shattered, leaving a temporary void.

The barrier rippled, two impact waves flowing all over its surface, but even that wasn't enough to bypass it.

Finally, Kara attacked, exploding into movement and trying to kick the man in the chest with everything she had; she held nothing back.

For an instant, nothing happened, then the world seemed to register the impact, a physical wave of sound blasting from the impact area with enough strength to throw every human to the ground, every piece of glass within a mile radius exploding.

Around the barrier, the ground broke, a wave of destruction overturning pavement and ground, sending large pieces flying into the air and then spreading over the airport for at least thirty feet around, enough to destabilize the building behind him.

The large man who had been standing beside Kara's target was violently blasted away, blood flying off his eyes, nose, and ears as he bounced off the wall, then got trapped in the collapsing pavement.

Finally, the barrier cracked, three jagged lines spreading from the impact area and almost completely circling the red shield. Unfortunately, Kara felt a sharp spike of pain originating from where she touched the barrier, every nerve on her leg burning and forcing her to fly back.

The deformed man finally reacted, his laugh cut off and he stared at the cracks on his shield with an almost incredulous look in his eyes, something on his waist starting to flash and beep in a clear warning sign.

Then he stumbled; the barrier had protected the area of a foot around him, but the ground under that had collapsed causing him to lose his footing.

On the barrier, the cracks started to mend, but Kara realized it would take several seconds to fully recover.

The man opened his mouth. "Infini-"

Kara ignored the pain and kicked again, this time using her Kryptium prosthetic to hit the barrier, but it didn't help.

"-ty Man, attend me. Make her suffer!"

The giant robot was strong, likely a match for Kal- Clark in sheer power, but it was nowhere near as fast. Kara ignored it, gritting her teeth and starting to alternate punches on the barrier with all her power and speed, more and more cracks forming on the surface.

Fumbling with his hands, the deformed man's heart started beating harder, and Kara could almost feel the power leaving him, a near physical weight leaving the air as he was no longer acting on his specialty.

The hood of his robe fell back, revealing pale skin, sunken red eyes, and black hair. He was filled with wrinkles, and the flesh on his right cheek seemed to have grown in a veiny look, running down his neck until the collar of his clothes.

Kara could almost smell his fear over the shield, red light flashing with every blow, the pain not even bothering her anymore as her mind analysed the way the cracks were spreading.

With an explosion of sound, the man finally managed to touch the Fatherbox on his waist, a boom tube forming behind him, his breathing coming harder as he struggled to get up and flee.

Kara floated back, casually shaking her aching hands to get rid of the pain. It would take at least another fifteen seconds to crack his barrier, and while she'd have captured him if she could, she didn't really want to.

Capturing an Apokoliptian New God, if he was someone of worth, could get Darkseid's personal attention, and she'd prefer to avoid that for the moment. Maybe she could use another piece of Vortigar's heart to hurt him, but she didn't have anything else ready, and even that was just a maybe.

Not that scaring him away wouldn't be a feat worth noting, at least if he were anyone important, but Kara was hoping that the New God's shame would overshadow her achievement.

And it certainly felt good to scare him half to death.

The boom tube closed, whatever New God had been here disappearing back to his home planet, then Kara darted aside, moving fast enough to avoid Infinity Man's grasping hand.

She watched as the giant robot destroyed what remained of the warehouse just by walking through it, then it turned, releasing twin blasts of red light from its eyes at her.

Two of her drones intercepted the blasts, being completely disintegrated by the light, not even dust remaining in the place where they had been.

Free at last, Red Tornado sent a blast of air right where the robot would step, attempting to displace the destroyed ground and causing it to stumble, but the robot simply stepped on the air as if it were solid, completely ignoring Kori as she blasted his head with starbolts.

Crap, Kara had hoped the mecha would regain control once the Apokoliptian was gone, but no such luck, it seems.

Kon flew up to re-engage, but at least three intergang members had managed to stay conscious after her attack, and dozens of red disks flew at him from all sides.

Four disks surrounded him, arcs of lightning floating between them and causing her cousin to scream in pain, his muscles locking in place as he lost control of his flight for a moment.

Her remaining drones started destroying the disks, but Kara didn't have time to hunt down the thugs, Infinity Man seeming entirely focused on her.

Kara dodged another blast, then darted in, her fist creating a small dent in the robot's head. She waved between blasts of power and punches, her kryptonian speed letting her outfly the slower robot as she punched and kicked it, but it was clear the fight wasn't going to end anytime soon.

At the same time, the rest of her companions were disabling the rest of Intergang, preventing them from shooting any more of those damned red disks.

With a command, a dozen of her drones self-detonated around one of Infinity Man's legs, but even the dimensional crack couldn't damage it, the robot seeming to negate it completely with a flash of his eyes.

Infinity Man's entire body seemed to glow, moving in a burst of speed and launching another punch at her.

Crossing her arms, she blocked, the impact causing another thunderclap and she was launched flying out of the airport.

Twisting midair, Kara's feet touched the ground outside, sinking to her ankles before her bioenergy field strengthened the earth enough to offer resistance, her body still sliding back at incredible speed.

All the while, she fought to stop her momentum with flight.

Finally, she stopped, taking a moment to look at the two half-mile trenches she had carved into the land.

Rao, that felt worse than being hit by Wonder Woman at full power. The damn robot really matched K- Clark for strength, and probably resistance too; most of the dents she made were already fixing themselves.

How long did she have to wait for reinforcements again?

Despite everything, only a second had passed, and Infinity Man was only taking his third step towards her, his burst of speed fading now that she was out of his immediate vicinity.

Reinforcements didn't matter; she bet the New Gods couldn't maintain that transformation forever, she was finishing this now.

Taking a deep breath, Kara exploded into motion, accelerating to the limits of her speed inside the atmosphere, the air heating up around her. Then she delivered a knee strike to the robot's head with all her momentum.

There was a deafening 'crack', the mecha's armor taking real damage for the first time as it took several steps back, seeming disoriented, a few metal shards falling to the ground.

Kara pressed her attack, dodging a flailing arm to deliver a spinning kick into the already damaged helmet, forcing the mecha to drop to a knee, one hand trying to shield his face.

Above the Airport, almost a hundred drones had re-configured themselves, shifting and joining into a giant photon cannon aimed at the wound, a blast of light finally causing the mecha to fall, the fight leaving it too distracted to counter the shot.

Flashing in front of the robot, Kara grabbed its head to keep it in place, her fingers finding purchase on the slowly recovering cracks, then she punched, and punched again.

Infinity Man grabbed her, but it seemed to be distracted, a few spots of gold seeming to slowly flow over the red of his body, slowly trying to take over. Kara just punched a third time.

With an explosion of light, Kara felt the robot dissolve under her grip, then there were multiple groans as all five New Gods rematerialized, a damaged black box falling to the floor between them.

The device looked extremely similar to Motherbox, but slightly larger, and Kara swore she could feel malice coming off the thing.

Dropping from the air, one of her last dozen drones tried to contain the thing, but it immediately started to get corrupted by the technology, so Kara blasted it with heat vision.

Sighing, she flew back a little, looking at the five godlings groaning on the floor, even Wolf was too hurt to move…

Glancing at the fatherbox still resting on the floor, one of the single most advanced pieces of technology in the galaxy, she really couldn't help smiling, then she started crackling.

A pebble lightly hit the side of her head. "No, bad Kara," Kori reprimanded, floating down at her side. "It was agreed, no maniacal laughter!"
