Chapter 2 - The Unusual School

I found myself thrust into a whirlwind of events from the moment I set foot in the school grounds. Talented and good-looking students roamed the halls, their vibes sending chills down my spine yet igniting a spark of excitement within me.

"Coming through!!!"

A loud voice shattered the tranquility as a man on a scooter careened towards me. Reacting instinctively, I dodged, watching as he crashed into a nearby tree. Guards and teachers rushed to his aid while I slipped away, making my way hastily to the auditorium for the school assembly.

En route, I stumbled upon a distressing scene—a group of girls bullying a fellow student, their taunts cutting through the air.

"You are chosen here to be a scholar!" one of them sneered.

"Really?" came the sarcastic reply, followed by laughter.

Before I could intervene, one of the girls raised her hand to strike the victim. Without thinking, I stepped in, halting the impending blow.

All eyes turned to me, but I had no explanation for my actions. Fortunately, a passing teacher provided a timely distraction.

"Girls, you must stop that," I interjected, offering a sarcastic smile. "It wouldn't look good if the teachers caught you."

"He was right, Yue. Let's go for now," one of the bullies muttered to the victim, who seemed uncomfortable with my interference.

As they departed, the bullied girl uttered a soft "thank you" before darting away, leaving me with unanswered questions.

Hastening to the auditorium, I narrowly avoided being late for the assembly. Inside, the principal, Jirou Nobunaga, commanded attention with his intense voice and charismatic presence.

"Good morning to all of our beloved students and teachers," he began, setting the tone for what would be an eye-opening address.

He outlined the school's criteria and regulations, including a startling revelation—any behavior, no matter how unethical, was permissible, as long as it garnered points.

But amidst the chaos, one rule stood out: maintaining section morale by winning matches and events. Failure to do so could result in expulsion.

As the principal concluded his speech, the students dispersed to their classrooms, leaving me grappling with the unsettling reality of my new school.

With a mixture of apprehension and determination, I prepared to navigate the challenges ahead, uncertain of what lay in store but resolute in my commitment to uphold my principles.

The excitement I had anticipated was nowhere to be found, replaced instead by a sobering realization of the uphill battle that lay ahead.
