Mauve twisted her fingers as she sat in her favorite chair. Mill had placed a cushioned stool underneath her feet to help with her swollen ankles. There was also a stack of books from the library for her to read. Mauve knew it was a distraction. Mill didn't want her worrying about Jael, and she appreciated it, but nothing could distract her from the fact that her mate was out fighting Palers.
Lady Marceline was also with her, enthusiastically discussing how the baby's bedroom would be set up. Lady Marceline wanted to be in charge of arranging everything. She had also suggested making baby clothes and planned to oversee that herself. As always, Mauve had not been able to talk her out of it, insisting it was too early.
