Chapter 798 - 798. Darcy

Mauve groaned in discomfort, shaking her head as she tried to pull out of the fog she was trapped in. She could hear faint crying, and something told her she needed to wake up right now.

However, it felt so nice to just settle in the fog where there was no pain or discomfort, but the crying persisted, and it felt as though she was being pulled by an invisible string.

The force was so compelling that the more she ignored it, the worse she felt—which was odd, as the fog was without pain, yet she didn't feel better. So she fought until her head was above the fog and her eyes flew open.

Jael sat in front of her, holding a crying bundle in his arms. It was so small compared to his huge frame, and he held it delicately, as though it were the most precious thing in the world.

Mauve felt her heart swell just before the pain hit her like an avalanche. It was so intense she had to bite down on her lips to keep from screaming.
