Chapter 4 - Possessed?

"How interesting," said the king, watching as white flames surround me, "so he really wants to go against me?" a large, wide smile appeared on his face as water started floating behind him in the air. Everyone in the hallway had their eyes widened as the water flew towards me with high speed, only for it all to be evaporated by white flames. "Not bad Cyrus's heir," smiled the king, "but can you survive this?"

What looked like a singular head of a hydra formed and charged towards me. Although my mind wasn't conscious, it seemed like something had took over my mind to fight back. I lifted my hand right in front of me and my head that was facing down looked up to reveal silver glowing eyes, "#! %#^&$#&#," I mumbled something under my breath, but no one could make out what I said. Four large white fire balls the size of an adult head appeared in the air and attacked the hydra head.

One fireball slammed the hydra against its head, another hit its body, one more hit its face head on while the last one missed and destroyed a wall. It didn't matter that the fourth fire ball missed though, the hydra had already stared to vaporise when the second fire ball hit and disappeared right after the third hit, which is why the fourth fireball 'missed'.

The king no longer attacked me however, whatever or whoever was controlling my consciousness didn't seem like they wanted to let the king go. A large fire creature standing on two legs with two arms, a big head and one hole in the middle of its chest started to form behind me as an insane smile appeared on my face. My hand that was in the air then pointed towards the king but before the creature attacked anyone, my consciousness was brought back when Wren grabbed my wrist and lifted my arm all the way up.

"That's enough Felix," Wren said sternly, "anymore than that and maybe the law will get you before you can live a fulfilled life." Everything that had just happened finally processed through my head and I turned to look at the king, afraid.

"I apologise your majesty," I immediately tried to bow but before I fully could, the king grabbed my shoulders and moved me back up. Oh no, is he so mad with me that he doesn't even want an apology? Does he want me dead so much that he wants me to die instantly and not even bow to him?

"Felix Infermel, you dare to attack a member of the royal-" Owen spoke with a smile, not even bothering to hide his happiness but he was interrupted by his own father.

"No need. He did nothing wrong."

"But father-" Owen shut his mouth, seeing his father's glare.

"Am I the king, or are you?"

Owen gulped, "you are your majesty."

"Then shut your mouth," said the king before turning back to me. "Tell me, what caused you to change in that small amount of time?" he asked me.

"What?" I was confused. What does he mean by that? Is he talking about how I could change from a timid person who wouldn't dare go against higher authorities, to someone who would turn against a member of Kassiel's royal family that just like that? But he just said it was ok so that can't be it.

"You didn't seem like the 'you' right now when you defended yourself or tried to attack me," the king paused, "your aura and temperate was different too."

Oh, so that's what he was talking about. "I apologise your majesty, but I cannot answer that."

"And why's that?" the king raised an eyebrow.

"It's because I felt like I was possessed when that happened, so I don't really know how to explain how that happened."

"Possessed? How dare you lie in front of royalty! You just want to hide how evil your true nature is!" Owen accused me. I'm 100 percent sure that if we were to compare who is more evil between you and I, you'd win by a landslide. Heck, you'd win before I even get the start Owen. The award of the 'World's Biggest Asshole" belongs to you, no diff. It would be a world record that will belong to you, and only you, forever.

"Your majesty," I spoke, "I will accept any punishment you give me." It's easier to just get the punishment over and done with. The quicker the better actually. Thanks to Owen (AKA 'World's Biggest Asshole'), I now finally know what I want to do and that is to leave this nation to another place where I won't have to see his ugly face ever again! Looking at his unappealing face would make me go blind faster than him flashing his shiny golden 'World's Biggest Asshole' trophy at me in the sun.

"No, it must have been our Goddess's way to punish us for mistreating the one she had chosen."

"What-" both Owen and I were dumbfounded by the king's words, staring at the king's back as he walks away and leaves.

After the king was gone, Wren was quick to act.

"You heard it kiddos! There will be no punishment for the heir of Cyrus. Show's over, get to class," yelled Wren. She didn't need to yell very loudly to make the students here listen. Most of them were probably scared of her since she's known as 'The Lioness' so they obeyed her pretty quick, so quick that it could rival how fast people followed Eason's instructions.

Damn, I'm jealous. In terms of making people leave, I could make them do that even faster than Eason, Wren and his majesty could, but it would be because they hate me so much that they don't even want to be near me. I bet even breathing the same air as me makes them so disgusted they want to kill themselves, but they didn't do it because they want to see my execution one day, or they didn't because they want to outlive me.

After everyone left, Wren turned to me with a smile, "long time no see yeah kiddo?"

"Yeah. You should've at least told me that you could remember things after time is reversed when the mirror relic is used."

"I didn't tell you because I simply can't," Wren replied which made me confused. She clearly knows that there's something wrong with the current timeline and that I'm not from here, so what does she mean?

"Then how did you remember what happened? Before time was reversed you appeared at the capital central and even spoke to me while I was in Eason's body. You knew it was me and now you're saying that you don't remember the future but you're talking like you were there too!"

"I can't remember the future, but I can remember the past," Wren said. I could see a glint of sadness in her eyes. I've never seen Wren look sad before. All that I have seen in her eyes before was anger, passion and warmth. Even though that I didn't notice before, perhaps I've never even seen happiness in her eyes, they were just… warm. When she looked at me with that warmth in her eyes, it was like a mother looking at her own child.

"Then was all that happened now become a part of the past? Well technically it happened before time was reversed but, it still took place in the future," I grabbed a bit of the coat that was over my shoulders and looked down, thinking but I couldn't understand what Wren meant at all. "Can you dumb it down a little, so I understand?" I looked up at her and asked, hand still gripping a bit of the coat.

"You idiot," she ruffled my hair, "you should've just asked that in the first place. No need to hurt your small brain."

"Small brain?" I was offended.

"It's as small as your ego and pride. Actually, I don't think you even have any ego or pride!" said Wren, hitting my back and almost making me fall. "Hm, no strength either. Skinny too. Did they not feed you or something?"

No, I was offered lots of food and treated quite well at the Infermel mansion. It was me who barely ate anything out of my own will. And weak? I am definitely not weak! It you who's too strong! You!

"Oh? Looks like you do have a bit of pride after all," smiled Wren, looking at my offended expression. "What? Don't like being called weak? Or is it because I called you skinny, or said you have a small brain, no ego or no pride?"

"No one would be happy being called any of those!" I exclaimed.

"No," Wren paused, "lots of noble ladies like being called skinny. I don't know why though, isn't having muscles like me much better?"

No, definitely not. I sweat dropped, watching Wren flex her arms and pose, laughing.

"Don't worry kiddo! You'll look like this soon too!" Wren winked at me with a smile, still in pose and flexing.

No. Absolutely no. I don't want to look like that, not now, not ever. Maybe Eason would look good like that since he has a hero's halo, but I would just look extremely silly.

"So, are you going to answer my question now?" I asked.

"Oh, right," Wren stopped flexing and posing, "Well, I can't remember the future but, I know someone who can see the future."
