Chapter 3 - Episode 3

[The hard way is more fun.]

Morgan, seeing Alex, excitedly ran up to them. "Are you available this weekend? I just need your help with a bank robbery."

Alex, lazily sitting on the couch, chuckled. "My help with a bank robbery?"

Morgan, hands already in motion, begins "Technically it's a Credit Union, but, yeah."

Alex shrugs, sitting up. "Okay, I can spare five minutes to help you out."

Morgan, waving their hands back and forth, says, " No, no," then, putting their hand down began nodding, eyes wide, "this is, like, an all day thing."

Alex, confused, asked, "How is this an all day thing? I can just walk in there, rip the vault door off it's hinges, and hand you the money, like, it's in and out."

Morgan, slumping a bit, shrugs. "I mean, like, we could do that," then, getting more excited, continues, "but I've been planning this heist for months and honestly, I wasn't even gonna ask you but one of my henchmen, he has to go to his daughter's piano recital so I need someone to fill in." Then, Morgan waited.

Alex took a sec to process this, "You literally just need an extra pair of hands?" Alex asked, already knowing the answer.

Morgan shrugged, "Yeah, there's a bunch of security keypads that I have to pry open and rewire, and it's just so much easier if I have somebody else holding the flashlight."

Head in hand, Alex raised an eyebrow. "I'm sorry, did you just say hold the flashlight?"

Morgan, exasperated, asked, "Are you gonna help me or not?"

-A few days later-

Alex, holding a flashlight, waived the light a bit as they said "You know, I'm pretty sure I've never been inside of a Credit Union before."

Morgan, working on the keypad, for the nth time said "Light!"

Alex, realizing the light had moved, said "Oh, sorry." as they moved it back.
