Alex and Morgan were speaking on the phone when Morgan dropped big news.
Alex was stunned, asking, "I'm sorry, you have a what?"
Morgan, on the other end, excitedly informed Alex, "A date! I have a date with a reporter from Today's Earth."
Alex looked complicatedly at the phone, then responded with fake enthusiasm, "That's awe-, that's amazing! Con-congrats, dude."
Morgan, not realizing anything off about Alex, responded, "Thanks, I'm so excited! They're built like a superhero, and they're so nice!"
Still having a complicated look on their face, Alex said, "G-good! I hope you have fun!"
"Oh, I definitely will, like, they're amazing. Not gonna lie, I think I mighta found The One." Morgan said cheerfully.
"Did?" Alex exclaimed. "Okay, well, I gotta go," pausing to come up with an excuse, Alex, flustered, said, "Blow up a moon, or... something. I'll talk to you later."
"Oh yeah, no problem, I've gotta go to get ready anyway, I'll see you later, man." Morgan replied, already getting distracted thinking about his plans for the evening. "Have fun blowing up a moon!"
Alex Mmmed. Through gritted teeth, they said "Okay, I'll talk to you later." and hung up the phone. Dropping the phone, Alex had a distressed look, before it changed to confusion. "Wait, did they..." and realization dawned. "No!" Alex exclaimed.
